So much for Robinson's ability to prepare for each batter he hasn't bowled at Conway's ribs. That's the only area I guess conway in uncomfortable. Looks like they haven't an Intel on him.

Four is of course a better spot for him, but I don't think Conway has done too much wrong opening. If squirting a few off the inside edge is the worst you do in the first hour in your test debut vs Anderson and Broad at Lords, you're doing pretty damn well.

So Taylor and Watling's retirements...

Conway goes to 4. Blundell moves to 6/7....will Rachin be ready by then? Also perhaps not convinced by him as an opener

Feeling a bit relaxed now. Was a bit tense tonight thinking about Broad and Anderson.

Whatever it takes!!!
Probably too much of a liability in a four man attack even at home tbh. Might be alright if there was a fast bowling allrounder to rely on if he was bowling trash, but I suspect Leach would have been picked in that case anyway.
Yeah needs a 4th seamer as insurance. And true, I do think Leach is better but I would have still gambled on Bess here. Maybe get that 45 year old guy to bat 7 and bowl a bit to fil in for Stokes for these two tests.

It's not a high bar but I like Robinson slightly more than the other very-medium-pace third seamers England have selected in the last few years (e.g. C Overton, Ball).
Needs to be extremely accurate at that pace though, hasn't been.

Idk about you Nasser but I like my "brilliant bowling" to actually look like taking a wicket at some point.

Will be super interesting to see Jamieson bowl with the Lord's slope. That skiddiness from a length plus that vicious in-ducker he has....hmmmmm

Doull determined to say NZ's piece in comms, talking up Latham already. Yes he has to open most of the time in tougher batting conditions but hasn't checked all the boxes just yet.

Ball was actually reasonably quick, just crap. Don't think he belongs in this category.

Is Robinson always been this slow or is he a bit tense or the Lords slope he's not comfortable with? Read few articles he's sharp. He's floating the ball literally.

Well quite. And going for best part of four an over in the first hour and a quarter isn't ideal either.
