Satisfying victory and makes up for not winning the last 2-test series in England.

Thanks to England for fitting this series in, even if they rested players, it was fun. I don't want to mention the warm-up word regarding a test series but... it was good for NZ's players to work off the winter/IPL rust like this.

Nice performance by NZ in the WTC warmup games. Hope the pitch in the final is a turner like in the 2018 series, otherwise we may get Jammysonned again

Whatever it takes!!!
Excellent from NZ. Never allowed England to play anywhere near their potential and especially the batting, coz I can think of quite a few sides who would have lollapsed here and even in the first test. Hopefully the selection headaches mess up their heads, as an Indian fan, before the WTC final. :p

I think Crawley is done for a while. He very obviously has the ability for tests (the selectors saw something in it that earned a young bloke with a ~32 FC average a call up) but he looks out of nick and, with with the grim irony the sporting gods amuse themselves with, likely to nick anything floated up outside his off stump.

Yesterday's dismissal at least got him pinged in front for variety. It was an actual decent delivery but even then he allowed his skipper to talk him into a review which was, to be charitable, on the foolhardy side of optimistic.

Pope I would stick with because he looks so classy whenever he's at the crease, but pretty 20-30s aren't cutting it. His national batting coach knows a thing or two about putting a price on your wicket, so hopefully he will justify the love.

As to who comes into #3, I've seen Tom Abell (cf grecian above) and Jake Libby touted and, at 27 & 28 respectively, should both know their games pretty well. Both in good form (or were when we were playing FC cricket in England still) but both have career averages of <35, so is it madness to think they can do better in tests?

I think I'd be going back to Malan as a stop gap. He's at least had a go before and (as that's what seems to matter) has a ton in Oz.

If he fails we at least haven't ****ed with another young chap's head.
Yeah I would probably go Malan. Libby or Abell seem very Stoneman or Westley like selections and I think that era was worse than Pope, Crawley etc. Would quite like Lawrence to stay in the side but you would really want him at 6.

We talk about the openers all the time but we have not had a 3 for just as long and in many ways it causes more for the rest of the side. If you were just picking the best lineup you might end up with Stokes there.

Well done NZ, congrats to their fans

England fans here have been pretty quiet and contemplative but at least they haven't done much worse than rib the visitors for mild gambhiring
Ha ha, quiet and contemplative probably wouldn’t best describe our reactions had NZ’s top 6 been in a similar state.

Anyway, cracking to win a series in England after a long time. We really should've won the previous one but here we've just looked a much better side. Excellent performance by pretty much everyone, quite notable that KW didn't score a run yet it didn't hurt us at all, and wickets were shared around between all bowlers. Special mention for the slip fielding too, makes such a difference in England in particular, we've been flawless in this Test and you could argue that the one Southee dropped in the first went some way to costing us a win there.

On to the WTC final and I keep changing my team every five minutes. Nice selection dilemma to have.
