Woah, what a let off. Stone making the ball talk.

Need to get tighter outside off stump William.

Three Conway boundaries since lunch greeted with almost silence. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if he reaches a milestone.

Good from Young - left the other short and wide one from Stone (there haven't been many loose balls), pleased to see him play the cut shot now.

Stone does look a good bowler though.

Jimmy looking a bit flat this series. Not his usual self, the high standards he's set. Everyone's handled him well so far.

I'm not convinced that Root was planning on bowing the 27th over in the first innings when this team was selected.

It's tended to be a bad idea to suggest that anno domini is catching up with him, so I won't. But at time of writing he's taken 2 for 155 in this series. This time last year he took 5 for 150 against WI and 11 for 258 against Pakistan, so there was life in the old boy then. Not that I'm accusing you of writing him off, btw.

Nah not writing him off... not at all. Want to see the best of him as a matter of fact as long as it doesn't cost us a game. He's a champion, betting against him is a lost bet. Just an observation. Could be the decks as well.

Why are these idiots banging on about the value of playing domestic cricket on "better" (ie. flat) pitches?

Surely playing on trickier surfaces teaches batsmen how to actually bat?
