*Official* New Zealand in England 2015

Bradburn uses it a lot too though tbf.

It's sort of an NZC elite coaching certificate holder's catchphrase to show you're not big on the smug and cantankerous conservatism of NZ cricket's (largely unsuccessful) past. It's a phrase that distances you from the gushing southern England wannabes like Crowe and Coney, also the grumpy northern England wannabes like Turner, John Parker, Bryan Waddle and Mystery Morrison.

"We've started to earn the right now to play longer series than two tests," Hesson said on Wednesday.

Must've been an old Otago cliché.
It's a New Zealand cliche, but you've got to earn the right to say it first.

Josh Davey handed opportunity to impress for Somerset against New Zealand | Bristol Post

In their three Championship matches so far, Somerset have three players – Thomas, Gregory and Overton – averaging under 30 with the ball.

But, with Overton missing the tourist fixture with a heel/ankle problem, Somerset go into the game without a single bowler who is averaging less than 45.

Equally, aside from James Hildreth – who has scored 410 Championship runs at 68.33 – their batsman with the next highest average after the rested Trescothick (39.50) is Johann Myburgh with 36.

Somerset (possible): J Myburgh, T Abell, T Cooper, J Hildreth, J Allenby, A Barrow (wkt), P Trego (capt), C Overton, J Davey, T Groenewald, A Rehman.

The weather isn't looking too crash hot for the NZ vs. Somerset warm-up fixture today. Somerset just tweeted the rain radar:

Yeah before tour games start being scored on Cricinfo they always show you a whole Test squad, so I assume only those names are coded and ready for their tour stats page, and so on.

This is what they're playing on. Which is confusing, because Taunton is usually an absolute road. What happens when a road is painted green for a couple of days?

Yeah I think they just felt like redecorating the highway to make the rural agribusinessmen feel welcome.

Santner described as "always living on borrowed time" and "very limited".
Alex Winter, the Cricinfo reporter at the ground thought he looked quite impressive. James Pamment take note of this game anyway, if Santner is good enough to bat at three in a tour game for NZ then he's good enough to bat higher than seven for ND.

So ...

... if Anderson is still injured, and there's a green pitch, do we draft in Santner, #6-7-8 of Watling-Santner-Bracewell and have a 4 seamer attack?
