***Official*** New Zealand in Bangladesh

Flynn is bloody ridiculous. Fair enough to bat slowly when saving a test match but when your trying to push it along for a declaration to come out and hit an amazing 3 off 29 is a joke.
Sorry, but why are we looking for a declaration in a hurry? Personally I'm not so optimistic of a result but thats just me. If he scores 50 from 130 deliveries then I dare say that'll go a long way to guaranteeing his spot for the first test against Australia - scoring 10 and then giving it away because hes getting bogged down, on other hand, would be a wasted opportunity for some time in the middle.

This is the worst batting by NZ I am seen in a while. Miles worse than our first innings in Chittagong, cause atleast then we had a full day to play. Really really disappointed in our mindset. Ryder let himself get bogged down, McCullum let himself get bogged down and now Flynn has done exactly the same thing, but to an even worse extent.

Though to be fair to our batsmen, we are playing the MIGHT of Bangladesh.
Again, whats with the desire to play like its an ODI? Its not like we're scoring ridiculously slowly, a run rate of 3.5 is pretty respectable IMO. A declaration won't see a result as I don't see Bangladesh falling over for 150 on what actually seems a reasonable batting surface.

I really enjoy watching Ryder bat. Plays the ball late and with soft-hands, which isn't that common for a man of his build. Shades of Darren Lehmann for mine.

Edit: And he's gone.
Fully agree about the resemblance to Lehmann - I doubt Ryder's purposely modelled himself on Lehmann but the similarities, particularly facing the spin bowlers are notable IMO.

A run rate of 3.5 is respectable in a 2 day game? I think not.

I believe in winning, and I don't see the point in playing the game if you arent doing everything in your power to win (within the spirit and rules of the game). Whether a declaration would have seen a result is irrelevant, the point is NZ's batting performance has destroyed any chance of a POSSIBLE result. While a result would have been unlikely, it was still possible.

With your mindset, they may as well have called the match off after the first 3 days were rained out.

The only option for a possible result in two days of cricket on whats basically a road will be if Ashraful and Vettori come to some sort of agreement, and forfeit or declare innings with very few overs bowled, to set Bangladesh a target to chase to win the game - can't see it happening myself. What sort of run rate were you expecting? 3.5 is ok by me - heck, in the ODIs we struggled to get above 4 per over.

We've declared?!
Not that bad an option, breaks the workload of the bowlers down over two half days (well one quarter day and one three quarter day if you're getting technical) rather than for the entire day tomorrow.

Boy oh boy... Vettori first ball! And third!!!

BTW what's up with these bowling speeds. Kyle Mills is hardly express but 115 kph is Gavin Larsen territory.

Yeah I noticed that before, Mortaza was consistently down around the 113-114 range. Didn't seem right.
