It would be an irony if our problematic batting order posted the highest ever team score, which could happen, which is harsh on Bangladesh but they're really been hurt badly by those horrible 20/20 leagues.

I don't think they'll repeat our lowest team score btw, I rate Tamim Iqbal highly and Ashraful will probably get a few to the boundary with that flick shot before he's caught when he tries it one too many times.

It will be good confidence building series for NZ. I would like to see Blackcaps in action with a good batting performances on asian track in the first match

My Opinion Addition by Subtraction in this Series, I think We'll do much better in this Series. Lost 11 Fringe Players and 2 who had real potential ... It seems Aftab is Trying to Terminate his ICL Contract

Syed Rasel Is Fully Fit So the Bowling Should even get better ... Hopefully they can Build on their Last ODI vs the Aussies

The Deshi's batting is where the problem lies for mine.

Who have they got that you would say is good enough to average even 30 over an ODI career?

Perhaps Tamim Iqbal, but even then he is only averaging 27.38. Though he is very young, so will likely improve.

Other than that I can't see anyone in the Bangladesh team consistently performing with the bat.

Slow and low surfaces made for the Bangladeshi left arm spinners, New Zealand top order could struggle?

Good for thing for Bangladesh is that New Zealand don’t have a fast bowler with genuine pace so they shouldn’t be intimidated. Hopefully it’s a moderately competitive series but New Zealand don’t have great form for ****ing up against the minnows.

Chris Martin might be troubling them with his accurancy even though for not his pace..Love him to get hattrick

People said before the series over here that Bangladesh could do well. Now with an even worse team you're hopeful they can do well? With all due respect, they have no hope and anyone who fails against them should be shot. Bell got a 100 against them, Redmond, How and whoever bats at three should get bloody triple hundreds. :p (an exaggeration I know, but you get the point)

We didn't need a genuine fast bowler last time around either and they still got wasted.

Chris Martin is an NZ/SA bully. He can bowl all day overseas sure, but he lacks penetration.

Mills to be our best seamer, or O'Brien. I'm on the bandwagon now. :p

Unfortunately, Martin might be missing the Bangla tour because of an injury. He misses ODI tour for sure but unsure about test tour. more chances for him to miss the test series as well.

While I've grown fond of Chris Martin lately, as he has been quite good for us of late, this news isn't exactly unwelcome because it means we may get to see a different combination of seam. Mills-O'Brien-Southee, or possibly Gillespie, for example.

Yeah, although I'm a bit less happy about it because of the reasonably strong chance that O'Brien will do well against Bangladesh and secure a place for the Australian tour.

While he performed well in English conditions (very well in fact, full credit to him), I think his type of bowling will be little more than cannon fodder at Adelaide for example.

The problem is Martin lacks penetration outside of NZ/SA. O'Brien got pasted on debut by Aussie its true, but lately he has bowled good areas and if he continues to bowl well during the Bangladesh series then he deserves to be in the team for Australia, may as well find out if he has what it takes against them sooner rather than later.

Southee too, should not be a given for the tests. Obviously for ODIs he's a shoe-in but apart from debut he's lacked teeth even more than Martin has. Martin may well stay in the team instead of Southee or Franklin may be fit by then.

I disagree. I'd say Southee should definitely play the tests, to gain experience and such. Any bowling is good bowling for someone new to the side like him.
