Also, the two bowlers who've not performed over a period of more than one test are Bracewell and Bartin.

I think Bracewell should be retained for team composition, but either Gillespie or Wagner should come in for Bartin.

What I would like to happen: Gillespie in for Martin (although it pains me to advocate dropping Martin who I really want to succeed)

What I think will happen: Gillespie in for Bracewell.

Tough on Wagner, but he's not far enough ahead of the pack to avoid horse for courses selections. 3 left armers, a dry pitch, and 5 RHBs in top 7 would be foolishness.

i really don't get the logic in the first quote. why is three quicks better than four? bangladesh prefer spin, we don't have a good spinner, and even in unfavourable conditions our quicks came out with good figures as a unit.

there is no reason for new zealand to play a speecialist spinner not called vettori, because none of them are good enough to use favourable conditions to their advantage and they're a liability when put in unfavourable situations because they can't even keep the runs down.

Basically, variety in an attack is more likely to add value than bowlers of a similar kind espeically when the conditions for those bowlers are unfavourable.

Having said that, I was assuming that Anderson was guaranteed a spot. And I just realized that bringing in Wagner would result in 3 lefties, so maybe Gillspie should be preferred.

I'm doing a little dance right now. I was really worried that the selectors were going to stick with the two specialist spinners theory.

I don't like the fact that we have to bat last though...

It's been a long week since the last match. Hoping this is a result wicket even if there's a risk of the result going against us. Though if there's rain around that's surely not going to help the bowlers even if we don't lose time.

Mildly pleased with Wagner in for Bartin. Very mild.
