*Official* New Zealand in Bangladesh 2023/24

I swear when I attended matches about a decade ago the university oval was an actual oval. When did it become Eden Park?
Few years ago, they cut down the tall trees which caused shading and drying issues. At same time filled in the corners more with bigger grass embankments. Cutting slices off an already small ground

Fizz looks like he's about 10 years older than last time I saw him here, which was probably about 2 years ago.

‘A timely return to form for NZ’s stand-in captain’ says Cricinfo, stupidly. ‘Timely’ would have been performing during the WC.

Bangladesh have got a good one in Shoriful. Great news to see them develop a decent seamer.
Neva 4get I said he ruled 2 years ago and Athlai said he sucked

Whoever decided to rip off the opening notes to Yazoo's Don't Go for the ANZ ad break segues definitely knew how to grab my attention but infuriate me at the same time for it not being the actual song

This is very much the comfort zone for the fringe NZ players so far. Bangladesh are a very good team who played like junk in the World Cup but we frequently produce a pile of guys who are pretty solid at home against sides not on top of their game these days.

Latham hasn't magically found new form, he's just getting fed finger spinners in New Zealand and pacers who don't historically tour well here. For a solid player of spin, that's very yum.

These two are laying the perfect platform to get out and have Mark Chapman have to swing from the fences from ball 1 and look like a dud if he fails

Latham goes 4 (full toss), 4 (poorly directed bouncer), 4 (leg side c-rap). He’s been dropped twice. Now he’s chopped on.
