If there was any game we NEEDED five bowlers for... it was this one. And Siddle is in. Fantastic. :)

Can someone explain this to me?

As far as I can tell, day-night games usually go from approx 2pm to approx 10pm.

If it is delayed, usually overs can be reduced, but play doesn't go much past 10pm.

In this case, the game seems to be approx 1pm to 9pm- why?

Secondly, and very conveniently, they seem to be able to extend it out to 10pm or beyond- why?

I think the 1pm to 9pm was to fit the news in at roughly the right time for eastern states, with Queensland shunning daylight savings.

I think is important Australia keep a realistic target in mind in these conditions, rather than slogging around senselessly and falling well short of a competitive score.
