**Official** New Zealand in Australia

Over 1.4: Henriques to How, no run, OUT, pitched up, takes him on the pad - big shout & he's gone! How took a good stride forward & it hit him high on the front pad - looked a little unlucky there, but good start for NSW!

Couldnt get him out in the first innings, so the umpires had to saw him off in the second! You know it's a poor decision when an Australian commentator thinks it was unlucky.

Brian Waddle told me last night that McCullum's future as a keeper/batsman in the long term is looking very shaky.

Im not overally worried what's going on in this tour match. New Zealand has traditionally struggled in these fixtures anyway. As long as they show a bit of attitude and application against the Aussies and don't get disgraced, that'll be fine by me.

Theres been talks for a while that McCullum is going to give up the gloves, which is absurd because he is far and away the best keeper in the NZ, and probably the best in the world. Our team and batting lineup being weakened further is a real worry.

He's a good keeper, but he's not outstanding. If there was a decent back-up option i wouldn't have too many drama's with him doing away with the gloves.

Hopkins is a very good keeper, but not up to it with the bat. The rest going around New Zealand are a step below Hopkins so the BC's will have to hope Baz stays good for a few years yet.

From what i've seen Hopkins is no where near in the same class as McCullum with the gloves. I reckon you are selling McCullum short, his glovework over the last year or two has been nothing but superb, some of the catches he has taken have been out of this world. Hopkins often fumbled the ball and was no where near as athletic as McCullum when it came to making tough stops. McCullum doing away with the gloves will really really hurt us.

1 wicket to a poor umpiring decision, and 1 wicket to a short ball down the legside...we are doing well.

And now Redmond falls to Henriques...why is this guy in the team again?

Mills batting at 5 since Ryder's in hospital and McCullum is injured

Oh god.

One more to good bowling:

Over 11.5: Henriques to Redmond, no run, OUT, good length, jagged away a little off the seam and takes the edge - simple catch to Smith behind the stumps! NSW have the tourists on the ropes here!

Over 13.3: Henriques to Mills, no run, OUT, away swinging ball, takes a fine edge! Henriques has his 4th wicket & Smith his 3rd catch!

On fire here.

I wouldnt get too excited about that one...Mills is a test number 9. But yes, good bowling nonetheless. Hopefully Guptill recovers quickly from injury!

Henriques indeed having a great game made runs with the bat and is now running through the Black Caps batting line-up, for that matter almost every rookie in the NSW side has been impressive, Smith scored runs runs and picked couple of wickets, Hughes too scored runs, Hazlewood took couple of wickets in the first innings. so pretty impressive effort this from the younger guys.

Can imagine the first test.

30.1 Vettori to Ponting, lands outside off, Ponting leaves, ball collected by Vettori behind the stumps, throws it to Vettori at long on who rubs some dirt off the ball, and throws it back to Vettori

Ryder's crook, McCullum's back is sore. Vettori has decided to do it himself.
I think Vettori decided that about 4 years ago mate

Flynn getting known for a middle order Mark Richardson, and NZ should be more than happy to have one of them.
