or if he ever said that to his former captain.....Jnr. said:Imagine Gilchrist batting with Langer, who gets a blatant edge and doesn't walk. What would Gilchrist say? "Mate you edged that, off you go!" or to the umpire "He nicked that one!"
Not likely.

pity about mccullum, i was looking forward to seeing what might be a very very good batsman really take it to the aussie attack, but thanks to one poor decision and one questionable one, we didnt get to see that._Ed_ said:I thought Gilchrist was a bit harsh to give McMillan a talking to about not walking after seeing the replay (don't think McMillan would have been stupid enough to start the conversation, "Lucky I didn't walk huh?" don't think so...), considering he would have seen the replay of McCullum missing the ball by miles and since McCullum is IMO a better batsman than McMillan, and considering how impressively McCullum behaved when given that decision, Gilchrist could have let it go as evening it up, and also since Langer didn't walk for an edge as obvious as McMillan's.
If it win games so what, nice guys finish last.JustTool said:Looks like, for all their posturing in India, Ponting has finally spoken up and said the Aussies will continue to try to cheat when they can - it is inane, and typical Aussie hypocrisy, that they should sledge opposing batsmen for not walking while their captain is saying this:
Australian captain Ricky Ponting said Gilchrist was the only declared "walker" in the Australian team and there was no such expectation on opposing sides to do likewise.
"I have to look after what my team is doing and hope that we can change things slightly in the game there, but it's up to New Zealand to do whatever they want to do," he told his post-match press conference.
"We've got one player in our side who walks. We've got one player who has come out and said he's going to be a walker now.
"It doesn't put any pressure on anybody else, it doesn't change anything else whatsoever.
"Adam doesn't expect it of anybody else - he doesn't expect anybody else to walk. He doesn't expect it of our team either."

ive been thinking that for a while now ,it has to be done our test match record is to poor for it to stay like thisDarrin said:Is it any surprise that John bracewell was a friend of martin sneeden, and got the job. but on the basis of what his one-day it seems because he can't select(given his u-turns), and he can't coach test-cricket either. why dont we have 2-coaches, one for test, and one for one-day cricket?
What i propose is aberhart for tests, and bracewell for one-dayers.
That is what should have happened, then and only then can we succeed in BOTH forms and not just one.
Too Radical? i'd be interested in your thoughts.
All Adam Gilchrist has said was if he thinks he's out he will walk. Now every tom **** and harry think he should walk if they think hes out (regardless of what Gilchrist thinks) and if he doesent then hes a hypochite. So tell me exactly what Gilchist said to Mcmillan for him to cop all this abuse (yeah thats right nobody knows but that doesent stop anyone from making up something and then using that to abuse Gilchrist). Wheres the logic in what you are saying Darrin. Can you point out where Gillchrist is trying to be holier than thou, I bet you cant without making up something or because its not what you expected. There is far more finger pointing and blaming the Aussies on this forum than anything else. Its people like you who will go on for years about how bad Warne is then turn around and say Aussies pick on Murali, remind me again what a hypochrite is.Darrin said:Im sick of the you aussies trying to become moral guardians of cricket. How many australian batsmen over the years have been given not out after having nicked it? We also have the Martin Sneeden catch in the early 1980's, the underarm from chappell. Mathew sinclair stands his ground because he's wasn't sure it was caught or not and he becomes a leper in the aussies eyes.
Adam cilchrist trying to be holier than thou.
The only hypcrites around here and on this forum happen to be the aussies, and in particular 'the scallywag'. It seems th me that if the aussies do it thats fine, but if it's someone else doing it to them they're a leper, and a 'hypocrite'. come on get real and grow up there's a big world out there that you are missing.
