Really need to get Warner early then bowl dry. I'd take 70/1 this session.
I do reckon we would have made 300-plus if we'd batted first. Probably still wouldn't have been enough, the way Australia have been playing, but at least a bit easier for NZ fans to swallow than this nightmare.Based on what I’ve seen so far, I’d say they would have been rolled for about 166...
The comms were saying on air that Lockie has played just 3 first class games in the last 12 months or something? If true, wasn't the greatest decision to debut him here. Easy to say in hindsight though.Despite nothing going our way, that planning has to take some of the blame. No warm-up and a test against England on a low-slow nothing of a pitch. What were we thinking?
Maybe Australia had us by the balls saying if we wanted the Boxing Day test then it would have to be by their terms.
Yeah agree, but they were confronted with the same decision in Hamilton and went with Henry there. If they were hell bent on playing Lockie here, a workout in Hamilton may have made more sense? (particularly given there were no warm up games here). Debatable, i know. They forced into it with the Boult injury to be fair.
Well done.Australia look in no hurry to get a move on. Will.take quite a toll if they have to bowl another 90-100 overs here if not more for the rest of the series.
