kiwis just an ordinary test side. and australians have improved with the inclusion of james pattinson and the finding of players like labuschange.
If by ordinary you mean second behind India, then yes. Now that NZ have found another opener to partner lathem, I think they could go one better.

Removal's an odd word in this context. But yes, having two world class players back on board has made a slight difference.

Great innings from Blundell. His use of the horizontal bat shots was thrilling. I’m not 100% convinced about him as an opener long term, but it’s at least nice to know we have someone who can step up once BJ hangs up his gloves.

So Blundell will play the third test obviously. Henry comes in for Boult.

Then will it be someone in for Santner? He did finally get a wicket, so I’m guessing that he’ll be in the team for the next 20 years.

Still, would love them to ship Somerville over. And Ajaz if it was old school Sydney. Hopefully Kane wins the toss and bowls first again.

Would have Jaimeson and Astle in there (if Somerville is still not in the mix). The series is gone, might as well learn something from it though a Blundell-level performance from them is hoping for too much .

The Aussie pace unit performance across these two tests has definitely been one of the best collective ones I've seen, definitely jumped a level in the last year or two. Though Blundell did show that NZ's ineptitude has contributed a fair way to the lack of a contest. Absolute treat to watch.

Kiwis are a good side but not for OZ conditions

You need bounce and pace here plus the ability to play both

This won’t happen but there’s no reason why these 2 teams can’t play at least 2 tests per year with one home and one away

If CA had any balls, they’d make it happen

It was very well known that Blundell was great on the pull before this innings, so while it's been his standout shot it hasn't surprised me in the slightest. I've been taken aback a bit by some his straight play on the front stool though; I didn't think he had it in him.
Yes it turns out all that heavily derided and scorned Australian presence in Wellington wanted was for the sleepy nocturnal Kiwi to come out into the hot sun and start booming it. They did not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now.

Fair play Australia, dominated us again. Wagner continues to take wickets and Blundell was a revelation.

Gotta wonder what NZ will do psychologically between here and SCG. Having nets and other training sessions won't help much. A lot of the issues are psychological at this point.

Would seriously consider letting them get out of Melbourne ASAP (it’s awful) and get up here, book a NYE harbour cruise and start a two day bender tomorrow. Just don’t look like they’re enjoying themselves atm.

they didn't look happy from the get go and tbf looking back to the second test vs England they didn't look like they were loving life.

tbf it was never batting technique that made us all laugh at siddons and wellington, it was the poor dressing room, the constant losing and the infamous 'he's booming through the crease' remark.

siddons is a prank head coach.

Yeah, complaining about the pitches is nonsense. Both have been perfectly fine. The fact that Kane choose to bowl on day 1 is a sign of how little confidence there is in the batting shed atm.

Do think KW just hasn’t looked the same since Lords. He’s looked really vulnerable in the last 6 tests - he was dropped twice during his only ton this summer.
