**Official** New Zealand in Australia 2015

premature declaration has become a thing for Australia over the last decade

I can't remember the last time they made 600+ or batted >5 sessions
This is called 'fearless and aggressive' cricket and display of 'positive intent'

I think Slats is unaware that the white ball is different to the red in a way other than color.
He is unaware of a lot of things.

With more than 300 overs left in this test, I cannot see why Smith couldn't have waited another couple of overs for Voges to get a ton
And what about Mitchell Marsh? Guy missed out on a sure shot double ton. Shameful really from Smith. Perhaps he doesn't like the Marsh brothers.

If by modern Johnson you mean the guy who blew England and SA away a couple years back, then we moved on to post-modern Johnson a good 12 months ago.

jesus guys we're only on 25. Well done to survive that long sure but they could still rip through us and even if we get to 400/0 they could still tear through us.

I don't think anyone was expecting Johnson to do an Ashes on us, i mean we're not that ****. But this is the guy who came out of a Pakistan tour with an average of 28, and like all good Aussies is a regular home town hero.

yeah Johnson was very good in the UAE and I thought he was pretty good in England. Just had bugger all support.

And one of the features of post-modern is uncertainty, doubt, subjectivity

At least England took 10 wickets in the first innings at the Gabba

That was well played but I can't help but think that it's just not a high percentage shot for Guptill against Haze.

Haze is missing a bit of zip. Probably a safer shot for Guptill than KW given his height, and tbh given Guptill's somewhat limited scoring options I'm not sure if he can afford to shelve a shot.

Awesome filth from Tony Robbins. Could really do with a session or two of buffet bowling from him to help get is back in the contest

Latham such an unflappable character, he's exactly what we need. Guptill in contrast is definitely flappable and always a little uncertain against top bowlers.

Are you talking about his backfoot punch for three. If so it is uncanny you have made this point as I came online only to make the following point:

Guptill's back foot punch/drive is flawed, he is highly robotic as he plays the shot - this will make the number and range of deliveries he can successfully execute the shot against limited.

Look for him to get out at least once this series sparring off the back foot or back foot driving against one of the pace men.

Good call PEWS - very impressed by your post. :)
