**Official** New Zealand in Australia 2015

It'd be a ridiculously early declaration in horrible bowling conditions if they did. We're talking not long after lunch on Day 2 in 38 degree heat.
Might instruct Warner to get out before it, then :p

That said, I'm surprised 334 is still considered somewhat sacred given that Hayden did go past it. Or is it only 'Captains shalt not go past Bradman'?

Clarke declaring had nothing to do with 334 imo. the **** just loved an early first innings declaration.

Will they let him go for Hayden? I mean, I don't remember at the time but at least in hindsight letting Hayden go past 334* was deeply unpopular.

Tubby and Clarke both stopped short, would they do the same with Davey?
I think you will find Warner will make his own decision in that regard :)

If they declare the innings just so that Warner doesn't pass Bradman that would be a bit disgraceful.
Totally disagree with this statement. Refer to answer above besides which he still has a few more to get yet

Yeah this tour is gonna be a serious test of all the new "great team culture" talk. Easy to be happy when you're winning, but when you can literally only take wickets due to batsman exhaustion surely something's gonna snap

so how long until the coaching staff and captain get a please explain? i mean i was one of the few to be optimistic about hesson at the very very start after hearing he was a details man, but what the hell has happened in the lead up to this series? he shouldn't be sacked but jesus man.
I'm not going to pretend NZ were great today but they had little pockets of time where they were threatening both Warner and Khawaja. More so than in Brisbane anyway. They just ran into a bloke in the form of his life in great batting conditions on a ground he canes it at so the bubbles of pressure got burst fairly quickly.

How good is Warner though. It's like Boon and Gilchrist had a kid. I put Hayden above him a few months back but reckon he'll go past Hayden with time to spare to set the new benchmark.

two days of batting is an over kill. I'd put them in half an hour before tea and by the time Aust should be around 650.

Although 750 would be fun. Immense scoreboard pressure
That should still see Warner past 350 if he's still in by then.

The face of a man who has seen a million pies.

I miss when he was builtfat tbh, more DLF maximums.

Declaring before tea tomorrow would be madness. It's going to be 38 degrees and cooking both the kiwis and the pitch. Put 650+ on em minimum. Let some cracks open up and wait for the afternoon breeze to cool things down before you even think about putting em in.
