Australia have 4 bowlers that are Test quality 9-10s.
Nice avatar Athlai. Not advocating dropping him any more? :p

I have even less idea who should make way for Vettori now. Tell Ryder if he wants to stay in the team he has to keep wicket?

 Yeah he made the question a little trickier. Reckon Boult will go until Martin retires.

Hate all this "great cricket match". Yes, there was drama, but the standard of cricket was poor imo.
No, I didn't say it was a bad match, obviously it was far from that. What I mean though is that just because the match is extremely close doesn't neccesarily make ita great game from the standard point of view.

Anyway, congrats NZ, bowled very well
Congrats on contradicting yourself.

Clarke Hussey have a bad case of the Marcus Norths. Make it to 20, make a ton. That's the biggest problem with us atm I reckon, too many guys not even getting to 20 far too often. Leads to the sorts of collapses we've been seeing.
Good point. The Aussies are playing a bit like Pakistan, too hot and cold.

Clarke's always been like that, really bad starter but seriously good at cashing in. Hussey is a surprise though.

Will feel for Boult if that's the case. Bowled very well first innings, decently in the second and will want to secure a spot in the side before extra competition in Wagner becomes available.

Despite the loss, there are probably more positives to come out of this series tbh. All of the failures where ones that people can't be suprised about. I.e. Hughes, Ponting, Haddin failing is nothing new. On the other hand, Siddle looks to be gradually improving, and actually maintained it over consecutive tests, which I can't remember him doing before. And both Pattinson and Warner have emerged as potential stars for the future. Probably good we lost as well from the point of view of team changes (not that I think Ponting or Haddin will be dropped, but hopefully it raises the chances somewhat).

First item on TV3. Radiosport are also constantly replaying Dougeh's F-bomb.
Lord forbid someone speaks with a bit of passion, Radio Sport..maybe he should save his expletives for Plunket Shield matches so no one hears them?

I love Doug. Lesser men, in fact most men, would've gone underground after all the flak he copped in Brisbane and the catches dropped off him, and the fact we were dead and buried according to all and sundry today. But Doug kept charging in, kept hoping. Guts.

Radiosport love his F-bomb. They think it's the funniest thing ever.

As do I.

If somehow New Zealand turn this win into a series victory they should celebrate it by doing the Haka

**** me.

I predicted NZ would win before the fourth innings, but I didn't expect Warner to come good like that.

Totally proved me wrong, clearly got the tools for tests after all.

Martin/Boult partneship the difference

Can't remember, but his spell after lunch was low 140s according to both the radio and Athlai (who watched the game on his computer obvz).
Yeah he was getting it up there consistently.

I noticed a couple of times Boult getting it into the early 140's. Had me wondering if he was bowling within himself in order to maintain accuracy and get as much swing as possible.

The commentators were looking at Southee's action quite closely in the early stages of the test match and rightly pointed out how weekly he uses his left arm. Barely uses it to generate any momentum. Wonder if that is something he will try to work on or feels he needs to at all.
