Five of our top six do have international experience
Wrongly.:p

Hamish Marshall was the only one who was ever good tbf. And all were picked on pure hope.

Still, I will admit this ND batting line up is a bit stronger than what they trotted out earlier this summer.

Nothing wrong with McGlashan in the short form. Flynn when he was picked probably wasn't the best option, but now he wouldn't do too badly I would think.

James Baker, another young bowler will make his debut for ND today. He's a tall strong lad, not particularly quick (135ish perhaps) and nips the ball around off the seam.

Otago would be better off playing an extra batsmen instead of batting Neil Wagner at seven imo. Stupid. Wagner, Butler and McSkimming is a good enough seam attack, no need for Bullick imo.

And Wagner making sure he remains top scorer with Central 88/6. It's Wagner v Noema-Barnett with both top-scorers and wicket-takers for their sides. I find it funny and a little sad that Noema-Barnett, who I might describe as a typical NZ domestic allrounder, consistently takes more wickets than the young CD quicks.

All this round's matches are very low scoring so far. Wonder what the pitches are like. Only one fifty and that's from Michael Bates.

Well KNB has had the advantage of playing every match this season, whereas guys like Bracewell, Milne, Wheeler, Small, McCleneghan etc. have all had injuries. Milne is out for the rest of the season with a shin injury btw.

But yes, it doesn't speak particularly well of the standard of batting in FC cricket if a 110 kmh medium pacer is picking up buckets of wickets. Shocking day yesterday for the batsmen.

Yeah, the fact that KNB averaged about 80 with the ball before this season was something I always found encouraging about the standard of the competition. I suppose we might be being harsh; he could've just improved his bowling.

23 wickets @ 23 for Trent Boult this season. An interesting stat is that more then 50 percent of those wickets have come about through either clean bowling the batsmen or having them trapped in front LBW. A rather high percentage for a bowler who has an economy rate of under 2.5 for the season.

Well, he is a left arm swing bowler. If he's any good, you'd kind of hope he'd be picking up lbw's and bowleds, just like you'd expect a right arm outswing bowler to pick up lots of slip and gully catches.

Be interesting to see whether the selectors will lump for him or McKay later in the year. Both are having very good seasons. Are there any A tours scheduled this year?
