Fisher would be shrewd to rebrand as Matthew Fisher-Faster on Cricinfo, from next week on.

Otherwise T20 leagues are going to assume he's the English one. I bet that mistake comes up and costs him some money at least once.

Wicket! Shite legside strangle for the breakthrough. Wellington 6 to win with 1 wicket in hand.

And CD partnership broken, should be enough time for Canterbury to chase the runs I think.

What a ball that one to Blundell! Its slowly coming together for Fisher and its exciting to see. Already has a dope list A record...had a good showing vs IND A and 8 wickets this round against Welly. Is this the season where the U19 stars of 4 or 5 years ago take centre stage? I sure hope so, a youthful flair is definitely needed in the national setup at the moment with a leadership group of dullards stinking it up. If there ever was a time to step up...its now...and its desperately needed.

Ravindra, who couldn't buy a run for most of the A tour....what a relief to see him get a big result. Couple more hundies and the opening spot alongside Latham is his...hopefully young is moved to 4 and not axed.

Blundell has been one of the biggest positives alongside D mitchell recently, ever since he woke up and realized he doesn't need to bore us to death like Watling. Great stuff.

Ravindra made a great double hundred opening the batting over in county cricket earlier this year aswell, didn't he?

"What a NZA tour!" and "what a NZ U19 tour!" would be a bit more like it though, let's be honest.

Those tubby and very pedestrian kererū can't just hide out and feast in their favourite pūriri trees forever.

Wellington club cricket kicked off with a couple of T20 rounds today. PlayHQ is where you can get the scores now. Unlike CricHQ, you don't have to create an account to see the scorecards.

Hutt District games remain on CricHQ in protest, because they spent lots of money on laptops suited to CricHQ, something like that.

Matt McEwan turning out for Johnsonville, just to whack quick runs at No. 5 rather than bowl. He's taken a player/coach role with them.

Mo Abbas with a 5/26 haul in Auckland. A youngster and only medium in pace, but I'd like to see what his skilled left-arm swing can manage at first-class level shortly. Ross ter Braak close to running out of time to keep Abbas at bay, I'd think.

Jordan Sussex another option. Cleaned up Greg Hay and had 3/36 match figures on first-class debut late last season, now has to bide his time.
Liked the look of him last year.

Solia opening the bowling has me thinking the talent cliff is about to be exacerbated by a domestic dukeaburra/green mamba folly.

Grim days ahead, could be swinging more towards full on horror.

Yes, I can picture a bowler like Sussex sort of averaging 25 or more on the club charts, but then getting the benefit of a pitch that's been better prepared for bounce bowling. His 3/36 on debut was a fairly erratic spell with flattering figures though, I can now report back. That's from taking a look at his first six overs ball-by-ball.

I notice Mo Abbas came out straight after his 5/26 and made 113 at No. 4 against a Takapuna attack with Sussex in it.
