Haha I found it slightly interesting that Malan retweeted this the other day. My immediate thought was him mulling over O'Donnell vs. Allen.

Of course when Malan does select Allen, he gets some gormless half-heartedness like that, to his fourth ball in a tenth over. A bit of a tag there as a product of a really wealthy background who has things set up a little too comfortably for him as they are. A celebrity like Archer or Broad starts bowling to him, and suddenly there's more of a fully focused Allen out there, looking slightly better than a 20 FC average.

He gets out to part time left arm spinners because he went to Saint Kentigern?

Well obviously a high IQ son from a wealthy father (like me) is far more common. But yeah, the low IQers with rich dads are often pretty cruisy and hard to motivate.

Another 100 for Dane Cleaver, pure class this kid. Blundell was obviously get it but he must be back up to BJ Watling at this point with him opening at the moment.

Speaking of Felix Murray and Jeetan Patel's retirement. The video from Rangiora looks like a bone dry field and Wellington are playing 5 seamers and no specialist spinner.

Admittedly the pitch looked slightly green.

Ravindra and M Bracewell have bowled approx 25 overs each so far. (for no wickets)

Maybe it's just a road.

I wonder if it's Nofal leaving the city that has taken Conway off the boil. A cleverer and more perceptive NZC might find out who his second best friend was in the Gauteng U19s and get him out here purely as a golf buddy or something. Get that risk of Johann Myburgh shenanigans back down to 0% chance.

Conway showing he's human afterall.

It's nice to see Raval refusing to go gently into that good night. He's gotta be aware that Blundell probably won't be able to hold down that openers spot long term. Will be interesting to see how the next season unfolds for him.

I'm starting to think Kippax IS Leighton Burtt, seeing as he doesn't half talk some ****.

Look at him, with all those crackpot theories, hunches and speculations. He can't even bet a clean $50. They make him bet in daft and eccentric numbers like $29.28 and $36.61. Why would any bookie make him do that.

Make that double... it's great to see so many guys putting their hand up this season. The decks have been challenging in the first dig no doubt about that. This end of the summer I'm hoping there is variable bounce and spin (it'll never spin at Basin) which will test the batters and spin bowlers get something out of this.

Cleaver should be now starting to be considered for Black Caps I'd hope. Maybe behind BJ and Blundell for red ball cricket. Cleaver is quite tidy behind the stumps as well.

Leo Carter with a double was a bit of a surprise. Second century, doubles his top score.

Real runfest this round. 2 doubles, 4 centuries. Possibility of more today.

Loved watching some of the highlights of the Cleaver innings, the way he tore into Kuggelejin was especially enjoyable

Obviously Kuggelejin should be watching from a 6×4 cell at Rimutaka Prison, but him getting mauled is the next best thing
