That is ****ing atrocious.

Auckland had one job today as the4th placed team playing the 5th placed team in the final round. Don't get thrashed and give your 5th placed opponents a chance for a bonus point.

Chapman and CDG are the stinker dismissals there. Especially CDG hitting down long off's throat the next ball after Chapman.
So, this was all wrong. In terms of Auckland just needing to avoid a heavy defeat to CD.

So context of dismissals I was so critical of was not as I assumed.

Yeah, looks like if they lost they would miss the semis no matter what. It's still a terrible collapse though.

2 cracker games on tomorrow, no international cricket for a week, and they haven't got it on Sky. Man NZC are in the dark ages, even the national football league have regular games on TV. They don't need 15 cameras for a domestic game, a couple each end a side on camera each side and I'd be happy! If they don't play the final I'd be fuming.

Nice to see my old friend Liam Rukawai still chugging along. He was a really good bowler as a young chap, just couldn't stay healthy.

Not a bad recovery.

Normally 56/7 in first innings of Hawke Cup is disastrous. But recovered to 170, now have HB 4/1

every time i see his name that Deeble bloke has good runs next to it and he bats at #9

Former youth pastor Donovan Deeble, apparently. NZFan might've been hoping it was a locally-raised Dwayne Deeble or Dazza Deeble who was really defying the odds and getting that engine room consistently pumping, but he's out of luck.

Ryder bowled Kuggs looked seriously quick.

Although front on plus ball release above the top of screen may be playing optical tricks and making it look quicker.

kugg's action hides the ball from the batsman slightly imo, probably makes him feel 5kph quicker.

also people have disagreed with me on this, but to me he's the closest bowler in raw visceral impact we've had to Bond

Interesting take, I liken him more to Iain O'Brien when he was at his best rhythm and getting it through over 140.

That's the kind of ***y wicket that just makes you love Henry. So good when he hits that length and gets a touch of movement.

Henry Shipley also picked up a couple of impressive wickets - surprising and hurrying Ronchi and Woodcock with the short ball.

Kuggeleijn's performance just keeping getting better and better - wish we could separate the cricketer out from the other business. He's always looked a good hitter but I didn't think his bowling had much to it - just straight up and down. Now he seems to have put on pace, a touch more difficult for batsmen to pick up his release (as wellAlbidarned points out), and consistently extracts seam movement.

Tom Bruce loves Pukekura park doesn't he? Another eight sixes in his hundred today.

Is a Canterbury home final a death knell to any chance of a late decision to televise the final?

Sky getting their OSB trucks over the straits and all that ...

BOP retained the Hawke Cup btw, on first innings win. After being 56/7

BAY OF PLENTY vs HAWKE'S BAY

Almost an outright win in the end.

Dudding, who took six in first innings (the entire top 6), could only do 2 balls in the second.

With ND's elimination on the weekend. It was interesting that Bakerr came in for his first game of the competition.

Hampton, who was 12th man had an excellent comp (with both bat and ball). Plus Randell who also went well, with 7 wickets in his 3 games, was left out.

No idea about injuries, that would require media coverage .......

I quite rate Baker at this level btw, although more as a red ball player at this stage. Just seemed strange to come in from no where (and he struggled).
