Nathan Smith picked up 4 wickets yesterday vs the Aussie u19. Doesn't look like a tall lad but hits the deck by the likes of it.

Here's BYB from the U19 end of last year at Lincoln.

I wonder if that fourfer was on the Australian clay they have on one of the grounds at the Dubai ICC Academy. Hopefully everyone's been smart enough to keep them off that, ahead of Bangladesh.

The lads that played for U19 last time around said the ICCA Ground the 19s are playing is not all that flat. They move off the deck quite a bit albeit on the slower side. Also there's not a lot of turn. Meanwhile ring of fire is flat as but plenty of turn.

There you go fair bit of grass. I'm not sure if the conditions or the pitch in Dubai is anywhere close to Bangladesh.

Ben Sears ball by ball. Rumour has this lad bowls at 140 ticks on a good day and is consistently quick. Bowls short and quick spells.

Yeah the ICCA has pitch clays from England, Australia, lots of places. There's a western look to a lot of the cricket I've seen out of there -

So yeah the results so far are possibly a bit misleading as to how NZ U19 will actually fare once the ball's not coming on.

Very promising. Sears 'mechanics' look great, as Howsie said - born to bowl.

Looks like his natural length is on the shorter side, so Bangladesh probably won't suit him. N Smith also looks the more polished and consistent at this stage, plus a better length for Bangladesh.

Just need to see Gibson and Ter Braak now .... And some Jordi Barrett .to see what they've left behind.. ;)

I assume they'll only play 2 of the seamers in Bangladesh, with 2 seam bowling all rounders in the team plus 3 spinners. So some pretty promising looking fast bowlers might not get much game time, might also get some unflattering stats.

Seeing a bit of Kuggs in Zak Gibson's new ball spell, by the look of the commentary. Just a pity Ronny Snowden won't be in Bangladesh to do the commentary. Short and wide...

Not sure how Cribbage chooses to interpret the footage below. Is Ferguson a future international or is Papps getting a bit ****?
