Kippax

Cricketer Of The Year
Well he's from Canterbury. Not much point in Bracewell, Mills and Craig bowling to an exclusively Christchurch Metro club cricket top 4.

Interesting article about Wellington club cricket and some of the transfers in and out in the off-season: Key games for all as Rothbury Wilkinsons Premier Cricket starts this weekend | Cricket Wellington

"Player to Watch: Alecz Day (Karori) – The Australian has moved over from the Sunshine Coast and has hit pre-season with a hiss and roar. Alecz scored 218 runs in 4 innings including a 99 at the Hawkes Bay T/20 pre-season competition including 18 sixes. This boy hits a big ball and can bat anywhere in the top 6. With a strike rate of over 200 the longer he bats to more runs he will pile on the opposition. Petone-Eastbourne will be hoping to capture his wicket early or they could be running all over Fraser Park."

Blain

U19 Captain
Some interesting points there, Arana Noema-Barnett moves to Welly. NZ U/19 last season, spin bowling all rounder I think? Good pick up, also Matt McEwan from Canterbury boosts the pace stocks.

Can't believe Arnel is still playing.. Ruining development imo. Ironic he's the bowling coach. Him, Mckay, Gillespie and Patel will be gone in a couple seasons and the team will have 0 experience.

Erm, why is Jacob Duffy batting at 5 for Otago? Is he trying to do a reverse Oram or something?

Weerasundara made 5 (Woodcock 97) for Johnsonville on the weekend, I see. Continues to wilt under Kippax's spotlight.

That is indeed Matthew Bell playing and making 50 for the Wgtn U19s there. One over-age player allowed.

Grant Elliott will do it as well when he can, apparently.

See Chander Ravi looped his legspinners up nicely and relished that bouncy artificial, 3/8 off 9.5 overs.
