Just thought of something...

There is a possibilty that we could see this line up in England..

How
Ingram (if he scores again in the second innings..)
Sinclair
Taylor
Hay
Oram

Its all Central Districts!!!

And if that lot racked up 400-500 you will not hear the end of it from me.
What's Ingram like? I see that he scored a century there.

The following is heavily biased:

Ingrams positives:

-from Taranaki
-teaches at my school
-I'd guesstimate he's been averaging around 40 for 2 FC seasons now, pity his first season was awful
-plays for Central
-The opening berth for NZ is a lottery and if he buys Jamie How a beer he might get a recommendation (Its what I'd do)

The person he should be impressing is Dion Nash, and he's not a guy you want to get on the wrong side with it seems. Feisty selector. You're right though, not many openers to speak off, and a recent century plus a 40 average season will get you a spot. I still say Bell is on thin ice to England as an opener.

I'm amazed there hasn't been a punch up between selectors TBH. Nash, Turner, Bracewell and Hadlee locked in a room together is a big risk.

Bell has the ability, he needs a bloody half decent technique though.

Well it does shows you how bad the non-international bowlers are if Bell can get away with it prior to his re-selection. In fact to the point of prospering.

I'm sure he has worked out some techniques, didn't he go through some major batting stance changes?

Blakey

State Vice-Captain
No, because Blake is the smart one. The chosen one Blake. Poster of the year Blake. Much respect.

*Sorry Flem this dude is pissing me off a little bit with his-pretentious-not-helpful-remarks. Don't mind me.
Thanks.

Pissing you off? Good because you are talking out your ass. Wow! Great - Darcey picked up on something you mentioned in a little forum. Trying to pick the next big thing, simply because he is an Aussie and came to NZ is laughable and embarassing. Until he does something of note - stick to to porn to get your thrills.

I thought Vincent was depressed but he is playing for the ICL. Was it a temporary depression because he was left out of the NZ squad against Bangladesh?

Bond in India with the ICL
7 matches 27.4 overs 2 wickets at 86.50.

He was in depression for a while. There was a hint of controversy about him signing that ICL contract, maybe he felt that he was not wanted by the New Zealand Cricket, and add to that financial security. While Bond parted on amicable terms, Vincent just took off without really telling Justin Vaughan.

Good effort by Daniel Flynn to get his 3rd hundred of the season, on a pitch that has apparently become more difficult to bat on (ND on 356/8 as I type). With the failure of Hay, Broom and Todd this round, and given that he's already been selected this season, one would think that he'll be on the trip to England for at least the early warm up matches.

Some stats by batsmen around the country (doesn't include the latest round)... Going by last three seasons. Also aside from Hopkins, they currently bat at 3/4 in their respective provinces.

Favourite prospect...

He's got one good season out of 4 so far. That might count against him. But at 22, maybe the first 3 seasons served his apprenticeship. Go Flynn!

Wow, Neil Parlane has been in good form for the last few years. One who's sort of flown under the radar since he's been around for a good decade now without ever setting the house on fire. If he's elevated he'll probably just wind up looking hopelessly out of his depth like Bell did, but given the current lack of performing top order batsmen in the country, the selectors could certainly do worse.

Didn't realise some of those were going along so well. I thought Todd was doing a one season wonder.

Flynn looks the goods but Richard Hadlee loves chucking people in early and you could say that has been detrimental to many. Pity this is the last game of the season, the shootout for England places would have been better if it had been longer.

So disappointed in Sinclair TBH. So much ability going to waste.

Hey Flem any idea why Greg Hay (24) didn't start his FC till 2006?
Nah none sorry. Kiwininja's idea sounds good, another could be perhaps getting some money before going for the risk of a FC career? (Not alot of pay and if you get dropped, injured etc you have problems)

Interesting.

Based on the latest round so far, isn't it a bit of a coincidence every batsmen around the country scoring centuries, pushing for that spot to England. Good grief.

And then when they get selected, they simply flatter to deceive. Ross Taylor going nuts~ (152 at 111 balls at the time of this post)....

Taylor hardly 'flattered to deceive' during the last test series. He had one of the higest averages.

Sorry I didn't mean Ross Taylor when I made the "flatter to deceive" statement. I was simply flabbergasted at how good that innings is considering he's facing Arnel who got 6 in the first innings. How made good contribution up top no doubt for him to blast away like this.

Taylor should stay at 5 in the black caps' lineup me thinks.
