Bowled some deliveries at below 70kph there, interesting. Good turn, but didn't seem to be beating the batsmen outside off an awful lot which is strange.
I'd be surprised if it was below 70...that is unbelievably slow. As in Joe Punter playing in Senior 4B at the age of 70 type slow.
We need to keep in mind it's a 50-over match, he won't be ripping it or trying to rip it as much as an all-in-whites scenario. Only SK Warne and a select few others had the ability to rip it and bowl to a limited-overs field.
However in saying that, Ish isn't a guy who's going to get it going sideways. He's a big tall guy who's going to splice them, glove them, do them with variation etc rather than get one going 90degrees around their legs.

Not bad sides imo, most of those players are well in the mix. Nfi why there's no Southee in the "test" squad though.
In the three/four-day squad? He's in the World Twenty20 side.

Luke Woodcock, really? Bottom of the barrel stuff that, likewise Andy McKay. It's a scary thought to think both of them are reasonably close to the test squad. Pretty meh squads on the whole but at least they've given George Worker a shot. Always had a soft spot for Worker and reckon he has the talent to make it as an international batsmen, not now but maybe in a couple of years. He's definitely worked on a few things and that technqiue of his isn't as muddled anymore.
It's a shame none of the young bowlers in the winter training squad are fit, would've liked to have seen Wheeler, Small etc have a run early on in the season. Same with a Neesham or Anderson, surely they're better bets then Luke ****ing Woodcock.

McKay? Does Athlai even like McKay?
Selectors' intuition only 5% of the pie I guess, consistency of (taking 2/90 for Wgtn) performance 25%, fitness 10% (McKay's a physio).
The elusive stags don't stand much of a chance with this "breakdown", possibly for the best they didn't run in hard on heavy turf at Lincoln anyway. Possibly why Gillespie's not there.

Plunket Shield starts late October, breaks just before Christmas then picks up again in late January. Final round starts on 20th of February.
Ford Trophy has a dedicated window, starting on the 26th of February, following the conclusion of the First Class season.
HRV Cup starts in early November with a single weekly Friday night game before the main competition kicks off over the Christmas/New Year period. Final on 20th of January.
The International players will miss the majority of the T20 stuff by the looks of it as they'll be in South Africa. So they'll play Plunket Shield, go to SA, come back and have a week off then play England. While the England series is on there will only be One Day domestic cricket for those not involved.
