Blakey

International 12th Man
McIntosh, Cachopa, de Grandhomme, B Martin and Adams isn't exactly the most mind blowing 5 wickets tbh. I'm going to stay reluctant about him, quality start to the season though.
Dude you play who's put in front of you. Don't blame him for that.

All bar Adams were caught behind/bowled/lbw, and that twitter feed shows plenty of lbw shouts and edges. He's bowled eight overs in this spell as well. Good stuff.

Changed my mind. Let's just carry on with Chris "2-95" Martin for the next three years.

Seriously, is Bond still Milne's bowling coach? That is a good and bad thing, IMO.

Bad in that Bond always wanted to bowl flat-out, no matter what the consequences. I would be wary of him giving the same advice to Milne.

Boult almost had six wickets.

EDIT: Before Athlai jumps up and down like he is on msn, by the description given that ball there was just a testing delivery, not necessarily a chance.

Agree with Athlai. Good start, but one swallow does not a summer make. And I still think Mckay deserves a shot in the test team first.

Really got my fingers crossed about Milne. He badly needs a full season of cricket.

Description "End of day's play saw Trent Boult hunting for 1 more to go with his tidy 5-for and finish off the Aces....."

Sounds like the ball of the century.

I reckon the umpire should just give him the wicket, it was that damn close.

Boult should surely at least be in the squad for Australia.

Just realised Flynn must be still injured as didn't play for ND today. That is lame.

timmyMac is a good scalp being a former international player.

How about being described as a "class apart" when you have two test bowlers in that very same bowling attack, say's a lot about him even if Southee wasn't 100 percent.

What deliveries does he have in his trick bag Howsie

The inswinger to the right hander - and what else? Genuine question

Can he seam it at will both ways deliberately. Or does he just bowl seam up and let the ball randomly go one way or the other.

Can he reverse it?

Cricket nerds trying to dissect a guy's bowling performance from Twitter feeds and online scorecards. Lulz.

Jarvis was a class apart the other day. As Bahnzy said a swallow doesn't make a summer. More performances like that though and there will be no argument at all from keeping him out of the Test side.

Well I thought he should've been in the Test side even before the performance today and I'm sure Howsie did too so it's hardly a knee-jerk. :p

Same. I would have sent him to Zimbabwe ahead of Dougeh actually, but considering how Dougeh went perhaps I was wrong and it was an inspired selection rather than the usual pick and hope.

Granted he practically missed a season and a half through injury, but this is his fourth season in domestic cricket now. He's not some kid who burst onto the scene with a couple of good games at the end of last season. He's been in and around the New Zealand set up his entire professional career, you know what you're going to get from Boult and he's played enough cricket to suggest that record probably matches his ability.
