I can't see the Lakers losing 4 games in a row tbh. Celtics holding serve is going to be very very difficult but a great day nonetheless.

Two out of three ought to be enough. I'm sure the Celtics believe they can win a Game 6 in LA. Garnett and Perkins' health is the big worry for the Celtics right now.

Followed your advice and backed LA for the championship after they lost game 2.

Pleasantly surprised that they won back home court advantage immediately. Can now greenbook :)

They haven't won back home court advantage because it's a 2-3-2 split. They need to win two in Boston to win back home court advantage.

But theoretically, LA are 2 wins, having played 2 home games, and Boston are 1 win, having played 1 home game.

There remains 4 games, 2 in Boston and 2 in LA. So as long as LA win their home games, they win the series.

How is that not home court advantage? Unless I'm missing something.

If Boston win the next two games, LA will be down 3-2 and facing elimination.

Usually when teams split the first four games, the team with home court gets home advantage for Game 5 and the series becomes a best two out of three with home court advantage. Game 6 and 7 being at home is only an advantage if you'e 3-2 heading into Game 6.

Boston are great on the road and can win another game at the Staples but they really really need to hold their next two games. They're not winning twice in a row at the Lakers.

Neither team has been that great. The Lakers have probably been a bit better overall but not convincingly so. I'd say that the officiating will ensure it goes seven. Would love the Celtics to win on the Lakers' homecourt just like '69.

I'm only new to the NBA (unless you count me following Jordan and the Mail Man in the 90s playoffs, can't remember which year  ) but it seemed to me like Boston's fringe/bench players won them the game.

Seemed massively pumped up. Really over the top celebrations and what not. Obviously wanted it bad.

After Michael Jordan made a layup to cut the Jazz lead to one, the Bulls needed to stop the Jazz from scoring again. When John Stockton passed the ball to Karl Malone, Michael Jordan stole the ball away and dribbled to the front. Guarding him was Bryon Russell, one of the Jazz's best perimeter defenders. Jordan drove inside the 3-point line, crossed over Russell (perhaps giving the push off),[1] and hit a 20-foot jump shot to give the Bulls an 87-86 lead with 5.2 seconds left. After a time-out, Stockton's three-point attempt hit the rim and bounced away, giving the Bulls their sixth NBA title in 8 years. Jordan, who scored 45 points, and whose game-winning shot has been immortalized around the world, was named the Finals MVP.

I remember that!

Btw:

The Jazz would pull themselves together in Game 4 in a better, though vain attempt to tie the series, but lost 86-82. Dennis Rodman, who skipped practice between games to attend a wrestling event, was an unlikely hero, hitting the critical free-throws at the end of game 4, and shutting down Malone throughout the game.

Rodman  I remember seeing him in WCW as a member of the nWo!

Lolakers. Reverting back to the Kobe vs (insert team name) days I see. Some sweet basketball to watch in patches though. Kobe made some ridiculous shots and Celtics were great to watch in transition.
