Mark Jackson got it way wrong with his assessment of Melo's commitment to defense for most of his career. I'm pretty sure coaches and management tried to make him buy in on D when he was in Denver and New York. He just didn't want to. The only reason he looks committed there now is he knows his ass is out of the league if he doesn't.
he said melo has been committed to defense for most of his career?! even a blind man can tell that's not true...what an idiot!

edit: never mind he said the responsibility for melo's bad defense should be shared by his coaches...that's almost as bad a comment! he should know most ****ing superstars do exactly what they want to do and coaches can't do **** about it...having said that george karl was never a good defensive coach so in denver it was probably a case of what the doctor prescribed and what the patient wanted were exactly the same...

Lakers and Clips saying they're done for the season now. All other teams voted to continue. This is crazy big.

love seeing it, really do.

we don’t have an nhl thread but we should tbh - what i have to say there is it’s really sad and flaccid that they played today. hockey players, mostly white, love coming out with PR laced statements that say like, “i’m doing my best to listen to these concerns”, and then come the crunch there’s next to no solidarity. heart goes out to matt dumba, ryan reaves and evander kane who’ve had to carry the entirely of the BLM movement on their shoulders in the league by and large.

seeing the chuds saying "we are diverse" because they've got Swedes Russians and Finns is a real mind****.

we do actually have an NHL thread but bumping it because of this would be a bit rough. http://www.cricketweb.net/forum/threads/national-hockey-league-thread.48319/page-22

Don't blame the Clips, the way they've portrayed as the big bad darkskin bullies by the media going up against the great white hope Luka has to grate on them.
can you point to articles where this is being projected? i didn't notice anything on si.com or nba.com so far...? from what i have seen, they are painting luka as an amazing talent, the most accomplished young european player etc which he is, i didn't see anything emphasizing his "whiteness" so to speak...
