How far can a big 3 of IT, Horford and Hayward really get the Celtics?

At least this is a young core and there are more great draft picks in the pipeline.
What starting 5 and typical minutes played do you expect Stevens to give everyone at the Celts? I don't really understand how they are going to share the 240 available minutes. I can't believe I heard that Baynes is projected to be the starting centre.

As a starting point it is important to note Brad Stevens views basketball positions as Ball handkers, Swings, Wings and bigs. It would not surprise me though if Marcus Smart starts as a secondary ball handlers for IT as well as Hayward, with lots of Jake Crowder and Marcus Morris at Power forward. I reckon Aron Baynes will mostly be a back up to Al Horford at center, what with Horford's passing being such an asset last season

BARNES OUT
I think Lakers is more likely. Cavs are so far over the tax that even signing a minimum contract would cost them upwards of $5mill in cash. They do need to fill a spot though so if he's willing to take the minimum then it's a possibility. Not sure he helps them all that much, they need guys who can play defence and shoot off the ball.

At the very least he can somewhat competently run an offense for a few minutes to allow Lebron/Kyrie to get rest. But yeah, obviously not a game changer.

I get really sad whenever I talk about him though... used to be so much fun to watch before the 528 injuries he's had.

Probably.

Meanwhile, Kyrie has asked to be traded. Total shocker, that. And if that's why they want D-Rose, well.....

I know Knicks have ruled out the possibility of trading Kristaps and I think the above trade weakens them the most (the Indy 1st rounder helps though), but this is realistic because I don't think they get that much for Melo. The Knicks probably tank and aim to pick up someone from the front court in the next draft. They could also trade Kyrie to a win-now team to give Ntilikina a good opportunity which gives them an even better chance of picking up a Doncic or Porter.

TristanThompson, Lance Stephenson, Iman Shumpert, Kyle Korver, Jeff Green is an interesting bench for Cleveland. FTR I am really high on Myles Turner so maybe its making me think the Cavs deal is decent.

Looks so much better having a screenshot of the trade. I think Celtics would need an extra guard for that trade to make sense as they don't need picks.

For my trade, the team I would then trade with the Knicks would be the Nuggets just because it worked out so well last time.

So Denver receives: Kyrie Irving.
Knicks receive: Murray, Barton, Hernangomez (we all want the bros together) and either a first rounder or Mudiay maybe?

Denver would then have: Kyrie-Harris-Chandler-Millsap-Jokic which you would think is very good.

Irving is a fantastic offensive talent but he has to improve so much on the defensive end and the whole "making your teammates better" deal if he wants to be a successful franchise player...if James Harden can do it he certainly can, it's a question of getting a team with the right pieces around him and the right coach...
