Franklin is only going to bowl 120kph gun barrel crap as well. Might as well get a real batsman in the side like Williamson.
He batted really well in the ODIs against India. He's been one of their best batsmen in recent times; he certainly deserves the spot more than someone like How. He's batting at least one spot too high but he should be in the team; his role just shouldn't be to see off the new ball...

LOL Taylor. This is one of the longest runs of "bad form" I've seen from a supposedly top batsman. Awful.

Can see DV sticking around for a while. He's always provided bulk nuisance value against Australia.

itbt, NZ don't need a huge total to have a chance of defending. Australia struggle when the ball isn't coming on, which is a characteristic of this pitch.

Seriously, not a single close match in this WC so far. And India's awesomeness won't help the case either.

Although, I'm expecting SL vs Pak to be the first real contest of this tournament. Plus the real matches are yet to come.

Australia will walk this. Looked a pretty good pitch to me, and what little moisture it had will have gone out of it by the time they come out to bat. Bye bye seam movement + variable bounce. Was a great call by Ponting to field, and his bowlers have backed it up.

Ireland v Bangladesh on after this. Could well be close. Probably won't be because of the conditions though, sadly.

What do you reckon they need to give themselves a decent shot at defending?
