Yeah strange one that

As an aside, did it used to be the case that if you were stumped off a wide it actually went down as run out?

Dirk Nannes just made a disparaging comment about 'propellerheads' knowing that rule, a term I've just learnt.

Think he's on to us.

Dirk Nannes is the Dutch version of Simon Doull, great to have them finally commentating together.

A real treat,

Yeah credit to the Dutch they had a good crack and gave us a good hit out.

In the mix??? Chuck in his 36 off 17 balls, if they give to anyone else it's a joke.
Bas de Leede was robbed of it against Pakistan so you can never be sure but thankfully sanity prevailed here and Santner won it.

I’m still salty that Stokes didn’t get it after the Lord’s Ashes Test

Seems strange to say when one got 70 and one got 51 but seems like more evidence for Rachin>Young.

If you can't separate the two on batting performance then the tie breaker is Rachin's 1 for 46 off 10 overs.
Having a top 3 batsman who can bowl 10 overs of spin is huge for team balance.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

Such a new Zealand mentality. Make sure you can bowl as well so you can make the side.

I think you just like the idea of Rachin more but don't want to say it based on feeling, which is perfectly fine to do.
yeah I didn't really feel like making a snarky comment to @SteveNZ but I'm not sure how you can say Rachin did better than Young yesterday - particularly considering Young was the guy who actually opened the batting.

Might be the argument about him bowling though, but I really struggle with ultimately justifying our opening batsman selection on the basis that he's a (kind of crap) bowler. To me, he just goes into a pool of guys who can chip in towards 5th bowler overs, but even with him out we'll still have at least a couple of guys (Phillips, Mitchell) cranking out those trash overs.
