Good recovery from Prior, so many times keepers get flustered once they've made an initial hash of it, but Prior remained calm enough to get the job done. What a frantic opening ten overs, Sammy continuing where Gayle left off.

If they can get well ahead of the required rate, players such as Bravo and Sarwan can milk the overs and hope England get desperate.

England bowling some tripe here though.

Meant yorkers tbh. Surely better than half trackers.
Yorkers in the first five overs? That's horrendously negative, given that he's bowling across Gayle and can't attack the stumps. And unsustainable.

Sorry for picking holes in your plans. I don't actually have one of my own :p.

Not sure how long Sammy's going to last, but if he can ride his luck for another twenty runs or more it's looking pretty good for WI.

Don't think he did much wrong. At the end of the day he got a miscued edge that unluckily for him went for 4.

Look Tremlett is just a terrible ODI bowler with no plan B. End of Story. Theres barely any point in discussing it further, him and Prior are constantly given chances in the wrong format of the game, because of their performances in tests.

Yep. If a guy is hitting you down the ground bowl it back of a length. It's what he did.

Wait, Bresnan got the edge didn't he? Whoops.

Meanwhile, this is so old school from Sammy. I'm loving it. If it comes off properly it'd be such an awesome captain's knock.

Shot. Haven't seen Sammy bat much so might just be mistaking his loose style for fortuitousness.

Yeah, I agree. When bowlers get attacked so hard early on, they make adjustments, and it's those adjustments that often make things worse. I think you just have to accept that if Gayle's good enough to whack every 90mph length ball you bowl in the opening powerplay to the boundary, there's not much you can do about it.

He's played a couple of stunning ODI innings characterised by these kinds of shots, primarily over midwicket and long-on.

Very good hands from Strass!! Well done Tredders, that's his third of the innings. Bravo on his way back, good wicket removing a very promising batsman.

West Indies forgetting that this isn't the world class offspinner they need to be wary of. Classic case of mistaken identity.
