Haha, Zimbabwe's spinners are a bunch of Vettoris too though really. Cremer turns it a little bit but not as much as you'd expect from a leggie and Price/Lamb/Utseya only turn it about as much as Vettori.Vettori turned it a cm! ****s going to turn square come Zimbabwes turn with the ball!
The number of opportunities the cricket gods gave Zimbabwe to bring in Hamilton is what makes it so frustrating. They've had three withdrawals since they named the squad and two of them were top order batsmen. Hell I'd even fancy Mark Vermeulen again at this point.Gotta laugh. Zim have no one to blame but themselves, should have picked a few more real batsman in their 15. As predicated, NZ versus minnow = hiding. Expect Pak and Sri Lanka to return the favour to NZ.
Expect the usual faces like Sibanda, Matsikenyeri and Justice to return after this WC shower. Justice is a pretty handy cricketer, equipped himself well against the South African quicks but the guy just can't play spin. Vettori's arm ball would have got him first ball. Problem for Zim is the leading run getters domestically are predominately foreigners (Horton, Hall, Compton), yet non-qualified Zimbos (Raza, Wessels - Zim need a 4th WK in their XI!) and don't want to play for Zim (Ballance, Sean Ervine) cricketers. Hamilton is the notable exception. The number of opportunities the cricket gods gave Zimbabwe to bring in Hamilton is what makes it so frustrating. Yeah Justice is a good option to open on bouncier pitches - I supported his omission from this squad but I'd have him there or thereabouts in different conditions. I'd prefer Sibanda to Coventry opening, as frustrating as he's been.Expect the usual faces like Sibanda, Matsikenyeri and Justice to return after this WC shower. Yep, indeed. Funny that he still can't buy a wicket in the Logan Cup but if he can produce anything even remotely like his domestic batting exploits he'll balance the side really well given how he bowls in ODIs.Lamb has never contributed with the bat before, so today would be a good time to start. Only problem with Lamb is that it is hard to drop him, as the bowling has come on leaps and bounds. He was turning it square when he was in the Windies last year and they couldn't play him for toffee.
Yeah there really was no reason to push the field back.I'm an impatient armchair-expert. Singles irritate me. BRING THE ****ING FIELD IN.
Prehaps for Taylor, as he was looking to push things along, but not for the guy at the other end.Yeah there really was no reason to push the field back.
No it wasn't.That was going down leg IMO.
