**Official** Kenya in Zimbabwe

White Zimbabweans tend to be very fiery and competitive people. Mark Vermeulen fractured his hand punching the wall of the dressing room in South Africa this winter, so it's not just Bryan who has done it!

Zimbabwe pulled off a convincing seven-wicket win, with encouraging performances from Keegan Meth, Duffin, Taylor, Masakadza and Rinke, although this is not going to scotch criticism as Kenya were undercooked and underprepared. Still, a good start to Terry's tenure as captain.

Anyone else read the Cricinfo Match Report? Looks like it's been penned by an eleven-year-old...

Masakadza was joined by Taylor and the two most experienced batsmen in the side produced a dazzling spell of strokeplay as Kenya tired. That was hardly surprising. They only arrived in the country yesterday morning after a journey which took 13 hours, and immediately traveled up to Bulawayo where their one net session was washed out. By the end Kenya could not check a rising run-rate.

I'm very surprised at that, because the two guys who usually write Cricinfo Zimbabwe's stuff, John Ward and the pseudonymous "Steven Price" are highly competent writers.

The Amish are like that too, apparently.

Impressive win from Zimbabwe. I didnt expect them to do so well. I dont understand why Masakadza bowled with both Strydom and Chigumbura in the side as allrounders, not do I understand why Peter Rinke opened the batting and bowled second change, but both moves paid off...

My main worry is the extras. 5 from Rainsford, 4 from Ireland, 4 from Rinke 3 from Mahwire and even one from Utseya. We cant afford to do that against the better sides, or even against Kenya once they get some match practice.

Comprehensive victory for Kenya, regardless of the standard of cricket on show at least it looks like it will be a competitive series.

Um.. Maurice Odumbe was banned for cheating...
Very old news.

Ravindu Shah is unfit and Collins Obuya "isn't ready to return to top flight cricket". I think he's sorting out some things with his bowling still. Not sure about Modi.

Interesting results in the first two games. I forgot about Taylor! I do rate him highly, think he has some talent.

I wonder how the next two games will go? Probably picking Kenya to take the series 3-2 now. Especially since Kenya are missing Suji, a very good ODI bowler, even against the better teams.

Why wasn't Keegan Meth used? He bowled effectively in the first game. Surely they could have afforded to remove Mahwire from the game.
