Not bad, why bangers bats like 15/15 over game?

No need to bats like that, Ball turn at 5.3°

Best way to chase a low total is to be aggressive
Not good idea
India in westindies chasing about same 130 odd we were dismissed in 80 odd, many time in test matches when we chases Ordinary target we lost 5 to 6 wkts normally on day 5

The pitch did not deteriorate as much Ireland would have hoped for. Think we cant afford Shanto and Mominul both in the XI. It should be one or the other. Joy should open until Zakir remains injured.

its a good idea to be aggressive in a low total run chase because you can turn it into a formality if just one of your batsmen clicks. also puts more pressure on opposition who are already under it defending a low score

Not sure if Nic Pothas (latest addition to coaching panel) was really needed. We already have-

Hathure (head coach)
Jamie Siddons (batting coach)
Allan Donald (pace bowling coach)
Herath (spin coach)

Bit of an anticlimactic day, but still a great effort by Ireland in this test.

Ireland is next door to England , I never understood why England does not help its neighbor out more , if it's against ICC rules then ICC needs to look at accommodating where possible cause no team can survive in Test Cricket in the long term with the amount of red ball cricket Ireland play, like when Ireland was an associate their best players were allowed to play County cricket without being viewed as overseas players , ..Why can't Ireland be a part of the county championship or even host some test matches in England , England plays more Tests than anyone , would be perfect preparation for a touring side to play Ireland before England...
The ECB probably do more for Irish cricket than any other international board fixtures wise and will host them again for a test at Lord's in June. Ireland has already hosted its home games at County grounds and will do so again for the Bangladesh fixtures as the weather is crap this time of year and there's still no permanent ground.

They (along with Scotland and to a lesser degree the Netherlands and Denmark ) have already been part of the domestic one-day tournaments back in the 1990s-2000s, but it became pointless as none of them could ever field a full strength side, and couldn't reliably schedule internationals against touring teams to England which is where a good chunk of the boards' revenue is generated. One of those tours after dropping out of the Natwest Cup and finding their own broadcast partner caused a massive uproar with the ECB (they had the rights for Ireland but not Irish matches) that eventually got Cricket Ireland their broadcast deal with Sky Sports. Going back to anything like that would be a big step backwards.

What would be great to see is the interpros starting up again this summer and more A tours like the one to Bangladesh in February.

Icc provided enough Fund every year to all test playing nation for Development of cricket plus. including Ireland.

Ireland should sorts out all their issue than gets support from ECB
