Samson very nearly won the game too. Had Morris failed the blame would still be on Samson. If anything, blame the clowns like Stokes who drop catches and get out for a duck in the powerplay.

Shouldn't have denied the single to Morris.
Agreed, Morris is capable enough with the bat. You don't do that to a senior player. It would have made sense if it an inexperienced player/pure bowler at the other end.

But on the other hand, it was Samson's decision to make, can't blame him fully either coz he was hitting the ball so well.

Bull****. No way was he getting back for a second with the throw always headed for the keeper.
That is true. Two runs weren't there. Again, this is something where you can't blame anyone. It was a pressure situation and Samson had to take a decision, had he finished off with a 6, people would have been talking a lot of positive stuff about Samson for being confident in his skills.

Samson is a special talent there's no doubt about it. I don't mind the fact that he turned a couple of runs down - he was creaming them and that's fair enough to back yourself to hit a boundary. Thats the game at the end of the day - if that ball travelled 20m further he'd be completely adulated

Looking at the ball-by-ball commentary, the main problem I see is, and I complained about this all the time in the BBL, is that Samson didn't do strike management in the overs before. This one clearly should not have been a single:

17.6
Jhye Richardson to Tewatia, 1 run
Tewatia slinks outside leg, Richardson chases him with a yorker, squeezed through midwicket to round out a 19-run over

Like, I don't know much about Tewati, but I know he was the new man in and Samson was 100 not out. Samson just shouldn't be allowing for a single there because from there who knows when he'll get on strike (it was 3 balls, in which his team scored 1 run)
