It's hard to accept how **** RCB are. On paper I like that team a lot with Kohli, ABdV, Wanindu, Jamieson, and Maxwell in there. But the reality is that Kohli and ABdV are past their peak, Wanindu sucks because he's Sri Lankan, Maxwell flatters to deceive, and Jamieson doesn't look like he knows what to do exactly.

I am not sure batting first is good for this group at all. But then again, its the first game back. If they are this poor the next game, there will be issues. I am slightly more lenient when teams are regrouping after a long period of not having been a team and all the uncertainty that has been around the schedules this year since April.

Has Jamieson been really good in NZ domestic T20s (I see he has best T20 figures of 6/7, so I guess yeah) to get his IPL gig, or were they hoping his test awesomeness would translate? As brilliant as he's been in tests, he's been really quite bad in every T20 I've seen him play.

RR has good to decent spin options in S Gopal, Markande, Lomror and Tewatia. And then there are fast-ish spinners like Sakaria and Undercutter. Shamsi looks unlikely to make it looking at the squad make-up from outside. The Kiwi keeper might make in the absence of jos.
