There is a game today..but no telecast unfortunately.
Strange considering SuperSport, Indian and British TV covered it yesterday but today they don’t bother. Yesterday’s commentators/crew et cetera are all in Port Elizabeth today as South Africa play Australia tomorrow, so maybe logistically they could not do it…

I heard some IPL franchises will have warm-ups against the Titans franchise but I haven’t seen anything concrete to confirm that.

Yeah a few other franchises will also have warm-ups with Titans..Chennai being one i can recall immediately. I think the details are available on the respective websites of the franchises..anyways none of them will be telecasted.

Are these games really worth following? The local SA teams are fielding second XIs and so are the IPL teams. Looking at what happened yesterday, I don't expect anything.

They are if you've got money on em. I heard Kolkata played a match earlier but haven't seen any coverage of it or even a scorecard.

Better than no cricket. I don't need the cricket to be the highest level to enjoy it, as long as its a good game.

Did the second Royals Cobras game even take place? No mention of it on the Royals website, SuperSport or Cricinfo...

Just picked my team:

Herschelle Gibbs
Brendon McCullum + *
Shaun Marsh
Brad Hodge
Suresh Raina
Manoj Tiwary
Ravi Bopara
Yusuf Pathan
Tyron Henderson
Dirk Nannes
Amit Mishra

Not a bad side that, not the strongest pace attack possible, but Mishra, Nannes, Henderson and Pathan are all capable bowlers. Especially the first 3. Had to pick Gibbs as well, a C rank player, and just scored a ton in an ODi in SA, going to have a good competition I reckon. McCullum's my Double Points player. Happy with the selection of Brad Hodge as well, got a tremendous T20 record with a hundred to his name, he better get a good few games.

Punjab will be heartened that VRV Singh bowled well. I'm sure many neutral observers would say he looked average in the last IPL, but he was carrying some pretty serious foot injuries and should be up at the 140kph mark this season.
