SJS, how is that relevant to my post? I don't live in India, and was wondering why Kahn was not in the team. I asked whether it was due to poor performance, or injury, or was he rested. That's all I asked.

If you want to make replies like that, fine, but please make them relevant to my post if you quote it. :)

No its not. My mistake.

I wrote something about Zaheer. Then added the bit about nehra and then deleted the bit about Zaheer, forgetting about your post altogether. Nothing intentional in that my dear. Just an error.

Apologies if that offended you in anyway.

By the way, the bit about Zaheer which I deleted was something like this.

If they had to bring in Balaji, it would have ben tough to decide which bowler to drop. I doubt if it was anything other than Zaheer being slightly indisposed.

Runs starting to flow here, getting a bit concerned. Time to bring Pathan back? Bhajji has been pretty expensive, as has Ganguly.

One would have to say, unless Jayawardene goes soon Sri Lanka are in the driving seat to once again chase down India's target.

Yes that was exactly what India needed (other than a wicket of course).

I just think that the lack of a 5th bowler is clearly going to be a worry, how many more to India have to fill in? Plus Harbhajan still has to fill his quote, and Balaji to come back on. A wicket here will just make Dravid's job easier.

No Murali, No Vaas, No Jayasuriya... Sri Lanka still win. Amazing effort.

India have real problems.

well we have our problems too, don't we? we have ganguly and we don't have tendulkar.... :D

they have been having real problems in one dayers for quite some time now.... :)

our bowling and fielding are just not disciplined enough to win consistently....i hope chappell can instil some more professionalism and consistency in this team....

India seriously need to do something about the 5th bowler, it's already cost them two matches. If 6 batsmen cant do the job, then dont expect 7 to do it. Pathan is now in supreme form and he's got the class, technique, and confidence to contribute consistently. There's also Dhoni who can be considered a batsman so there's absolutely no need to risk so much for a 7th specialist batsman. And like Ian Chappel said, Dravid's captaincy is the aggressive kind that requires five bowlers.

That's not the only problem the indians face. For one, what were Ganguly and Laxman doing out there? The first 15 overs were good but we were definitely too conservative. Keeping wickets in hand doesnt mean you quit taking runs. Despite whatever his intentions were, Ganguly's 51 from 110 balls probably hurt the team more than it helped IMO. Due to the amount of time wasted in the middle overs, the batsmen who followed these two were put under extreme pressure to get quick runs to make up for the slow run rate. This, as expected, led to a big collapse. If Pathan could hit the ball so well, then obviously it wasnt a pitch that required such a ridiculously cautious effort from the top order batsmen.
