The only purpose of Curran in the CSK playing XI is to satisfy @honestbharani fanatic dream. He isn't adding any value.

Sad part is there is more deadwood in the CSK batting order this time round.

haha... we won the IPL last time he played for us and he played a key role then. Its way too early to call anything about this season.

I think CSK are in the mid tier of teams but will get better as the pitches get more tired. Fielding let them down today more than anything else. Hazlewood and Bhuvi are a class new ball combo who can do this any day to any team on any pitch in this IPL.

The problem with CSK's batting is there's literally no one in the team that can go big right away

The big batting rebuild should've happened when they won the IPL in 2023 with Dhoni retiring

They had a decent enough batting line up last year but were just messed up with injuries.

I suppose Conway, Gaekwad, Rachin, Tripathi, Dube, Shankar, Jadeja, MSD, Ash, Pathirana, Noor, Khaleel may just be a better side.

If they really wanted, they could have promoted Ashwin to 4 instead of Hooda batting there. He has more of a chance of finding the gaps. But its their fielding that cost them this game. That catch of Pattidar is taken and you see Livingstone and David exposed to spin early in their innings. He basically had like 5 lives there with most catches just bouncing in front of the fielders when he hit them off the edges.

RCB would still have got to 180 easy. Jitesh is a good player of spin. So is Krunal

This CSK batting will struggle to chase anything above 170

CSK should try to get both Tim Seifert and Fin Allen if possible. They need guys who can take the Team score to 50 in first 5 overs

Those guys were born on the wrong side of the Tasman. Frauds like Chris Lynn and Fraser-Mcgurk are more likely to get picked than top order batsmen from NZ.
