Hazlewood, Starc, Cummins, Pattinson, Bird, Sayers. That's enough fast bowlers for two strong international level attacks. Why can't India produce even one pace bowler of that calibre in each generation?

say hi

Zaheer Khan is probably the best Indian quick since Kapil Dev. And I'd pick a number of Aussie quicks over Khan.

Dev on the other hand was a beast and would force his way into almost any bowling attack in history.

And fair play to nostrils who was fast bowler of the series in the recent Aus vs India test series.

Bhuvi is awesome and Praveen Kumar was bowled into the ground until he broke in England. He was also a good swing bowler. **** MSD.

I've never felt worse for a cricketer than when Pankaj Singh started bowling dross for 2 sessions in a row in England. It's just not how he normally operates and it was heartbreaking to watch someone who toiled so hard for his spot destroy his chances of a career like that.

Whatever it takes!!!
Our earlier problem was that we had decent and mostly accurate bowler who can get some movement (swing and/or seam) but very little pace. Now we have a few bowlers with pace but lacking the other disciplines. Really thought Zak, Sreesanth and Munaf were going to be the trio to change all that. Zak with control and accuracy, Sree wtih pace and swing and Munaf wtih pace and reverse swing. Such a good and varied attack for all conditions and it all went to hell. :(

Thanks a lot, Greg Chappell.

I will forever hate Jadeja for dropping Cook. Not only was it probably the turning point of the series, but it contributed to pankaj going unrewarded after actually bowling well.

Ishant has played 70 tests bowling mostly absolute dross too but he has "potential" tho. The world is cruel.

Wouldn't say that. Bhuvi is an excellent new ball swing bowler, Shami and Umesh have good pace and are very good with reverse and Ishant (urgh) is tall and accurate (these days).

There's definitely potential there for a very good, varied pace attack. Will be interesting to see how we **** this all up.

Through shoddy slip catching.. just like how we ****ed up Pankaj Singh's test career.

Kapil Dev was excellent but I seriously doubt that he can get into any bowling attack in history. Nope!

I count 4 limited over prospects for India so far from the games:

Iyer
Pant
Kishan
Samson

and Sarfaraz Khan hasn't got a game yet. Good signs.
Think Khan is out for the season, from what I seen Rana looks decent also. Vohra is not a new name, but his knock was immense against Sunrisers the other day, would love him to kick on.

Out of curiosity, which Pandya do most Indians think is the better long term prospect? Both shown glimpses for Mumbai this season.

I think Krunal is the star of the two.

Too early to comment on this imo. Something tells me Krunal wont last long in the national team if he does get selected.

He just might, Kapil's stats are a bit misleading in that he had to be the workhorse of the team a lot of times and he stretched his career beyond what he should have and even then an average of 29 is very impressive for someone who played a lot of his cricket in India. I believe Kapil would do a lot better in a team with a couple more decent quicks.
(Then there is his batting and fielding so he makes the team anyway.)

I think both should be in the T20 team tbh, Krunal is probably the better player but Hardik's success is far more important for India.
