Mumbai's fielding was absolutely unbelievable. Kieron Pollard is too good for someone who's 6'4. Like MS Dhoni said, it was the fielding that really made the difference (that and some moronic batting towards the end from Chennai).

Badrinath played well today.

71 off 48 balls and still his team did not support him ,though felt he could have managed the tail and the strike better in the last 3 / 4 overs.

His best t20 innings so far.
He has always been considered a test type player and in IPL 1 and 2 wasn't even getting into the Chennai team.
All credit to him for improving his t20 batting and hitting so much, because the way he plays in first class cricket and tests is completely different.

As for Rohit Sharma, he really is a mystery.
Plays so many good innings in the IPL and domestic cricket but every time gets a chance in the Indian team fails misrably.
Think it is more of a mental and discipline problem for him as he seems to always buckle under pressure.
If only he had a somewhat brash and strong mental attitude like Virat Kohli ,he would be a fixture in the Indian team probably in all formats by now .
He is young so hopefully improves and does not end up as the Mark Ramprakash of India. Needs to sort out the mental side of his game.

Shastri and Gavaskar always Keeps praising and hyping him too much and he gets picked again and again as a result too quickly.
For me it would be better for him if he went a significant period without a recall ,to toughen him up a bit.
He has had numerous chances and it is time some of the others like Rahane,Mukund,Pujara,Kohli,Badrinath,Pandey etc... get their chance in their respective suited formats and others too.

HE scored 71 off 48 balls and started off quickly from the start though they were under pressure when he came in and there was a collapse at the end.

Can't levy any blame on him at all.
The only thing i felt he could have done better was demanded more strike in the 18th and 19th over and not take a single of the first ball in both ,specially the 19th over.
In the 18th over 3 wickets fell and the 3 batsman should have been concentrating on giving him the strike instead of throwing their bats straight away.

But In the 19th over taking a single first ball with 26 to get off 12 balls to give Randiv(no.10) the strike was a mistake off the first ball.
Should have kept the strike and aimed to get atleast 8 to 10 runs of the Malinga over.
But i guess he did not expect him to waste the whole over and get out to the second last ball.

Badrinath was completely blameless. He was superb!

The rest of the team was at fault. Firstly absolutely **** bowling from Sharma and Randiv, and secondly the lower order and tail was ****house.

Badrinath played the exact opposite innings to Misbah

Yup, after Morkel got out the other guys had to work on getting Badri on strike. Instead, he ended up facing very few deliveries till the last over.

I still couldn't believe that everyone was backing in Chennai the whole way through till Harby's over, they did a pretty good job throughout and had good bowlers with overs up their sleeves.

What an innings by Badri. Really hope he gets a chance in the Indian team but don't think it is likely.

Lol what? He is one of the few players who has never missed a game for Csk in the IPL. Has played every game if he isn't injured.
