This is the team Pune should field from now if they want to entertain any hopes of making a comeback in this IPL....

Uthappa is **** at opening tbh.

He is not a four player ,but a six or bust kind of player and inconsistent.

Pandey should be opening with Uthappa at 5.
Uthappa's role can't be more than coming in and scoring a quick 25 to 35 at 5. That is what he is best at.

From what I can remember he did quite well for RCB opening or batting at #3, also its not like Pune have too many other options.

Atm... Uthappa is completing going to waste and they could do a lot worse than opening the batting with him.

Paine scoring at a strike rate near 45 in the powerplay chasing 180+ was criminal really.

And the worst part was he was not even trying to do anything other than dink and doink.

Tim Paine and Manish Pandey faced forty balls between them, scored twenty-seven runs.
Yuvraj and Uthappa faced forty balls between them, scored sixty-four runs.

If that doesn't teach Pune a lesson, nothing ever will. Drop Paine, bring in Ferguson. Drop Manish Pandey too; he's just served a ban for demanding extra money, and I seriously doubt his sincerity. I don't think his heart's in it. And last but not the least, bat Uthappa and Yuvraj at three and four.

Pandey striked at 82 compared to Paine's 47.

And what is worse is that Paine was playing in the powerplay.

If Manish Pandey was better than the worst batsman, that isn't saying too much. Anyway - think neither of the two have a place in the side.

Pandey is easily better than Mishra and Manhas for me.

Even Jhunjhunwala should be given a chance instead of those 2 me thinks.

Pandey as a opener with the field up is where he is best at.

And I notice R.Satish played once again! What does he have to do to be dropped?!
Don't know.

Bats at 7/8 and does not bowl .Do not know exactly what he is in the team for?

Have been mentioning it since last season.Seems to be a Sachin favorite though.

If Manish Pandey has no bitter feelings towards his franchise following the ban, and he really is giving his hundred percent, then he has a place in the side. Otherwise, no.

He got a ban because RCB complained about him demanding extra money from them or otherwise threatening he will sign for the Pune Warriors India.

Why would he have any ill feelings towards Pune Warriors when in fact there was where he wanted to go?

I'm just surprised that people actually expect him to contribute with the bat, he at best is steady batsman and that's why he is looking like a fish out of water in the T20 format.

Its also nothing short of a joke that Paine is actually the vice-captain of the Australian T20 side and Pune too are probably getting influenced by that, their batting looks thin and one would have thought getting someone like Ferguson into that middle order would have been a pretty obvious thing to do.

Anyways... good to see the Royals making some sort of a comeback and Botha is surely reinventing himself as a cricketer in the Royals' colours..!!
Whilst I don't disagree that he doesn't really deserve the Aus T20 VC, but have you seen his Big Bash record? Strikes at 140+ IIRC.

Sree 2 wickets in the first 4 balls ,ALREADY.

This pitch is almost playing like in a park . The ball is virtually rolling there.
