Wonder if Sachin and the Indian team have played seperate matches on the same day since his debut ?

Tendulkar batting now against Baroda. Didn't know that he averages 90 in Ranji matches.

Lol @ Crowd. They are making it pretty clear who they want to watch.

Decent crowd out there for a normal Ranji game, and this match is probably being telecast due to Sachin playing too.

Murtaza Vahora bowls a straight one that does nothing and sneaks past Tendulkar, knocking over off for a fair distance.

Jaffer, on the other hand, has played a knock that's good enough for ODIs, should the need arise to call him up. He's been amongst the runs, though not as emphatic as his former teammate Amol Mazumdar.

Was a decent workout for Tendulkar though. Played some good shots from what i saw in between while reaching a ton.

The Crowd was basically there for him only too.

Yusuf is being lazy. He's the highest wicket-taker for Baroda, but isn't bowling at all, while some of the five bowlers picked are hardly cutting through batting sides.

Has like 4500 runs at a average of 94 in Ranji Trophy right now.

Has a terrific record for RoI and West Zone too.

I know some were saying that he should be dropped but he'll play himself back again easily given recent evidence. Hoping this helps him get back into form before the Australia series.

Services captain Soumik Chatterjee, with an injured knee, is hobbling out at No 11. He is not able to walk, he is dragging one foot along with the other. UP keeper Dwivedi pats him on the back. And he's lasted all of one ball. Ankit hits the pads with a full delivery from round the stumps, and Services have a lead of 129

"UP coach Venkatesh Prasad walks up to the hobbling Chatterjee, who is already being helped off by a team-mate. Prasad takes the captain's bat in his hands, and lends the other hand to Chatterjee. The armed forces never fail to surprise"
Some Commitment that.

Services on top of UP too, on a Indore pitch which has been pretty good this season.

The Services are a team that impress me a lot. Chatterjee has been around for many years too. Good to see them performing well in the Ranji Trophy. They'd been laggards for about many seasons in succession prior to this.

UP have turned the match around on Services, damn! Great match, and the only one being played at a neutral venue.

Manish Pandey's got a century off 124 balls with Karnataka in a spot of bother. Wasn't too pleased with his inclusion, given he's battling an elbow injury(and has been pretty much battling it the whole season), which could potentially be tennis elbow. Don't think Karnataka's going to save this one, but eh, Pandey's one of the most dynamic batsmen around now in domestic cricket and is a big match player, so we'll see.

Edit: Damn, good stuff from Services, first team in the semis. Chatterjee hella impressive.

Punjab probably will get past Jharkhand's first innings total with their batting lineup, but credit to Jharkhand for putting on a fight, especially Jaggi, who is one of the best limited over batsmen in domestic cricket imo. Will be interesting to see how Uday Kaul goes, the Punjab keeper is pretty unlucky to have never been picked in an India A squad despite having solid averages in both FC and List A cricket.

Services v UP, Ranji Trophy Quarter-Final, 3rd day Report : Spirited Services stun UP to enter semi-finals | Cricket News | ESPN Cricinfo

It might soon become a cliché if the Services side keeps achieving incredible feats, but it is no surprise that a soldier has done this. Soumik Chatterjee, Services captain, unable to walk with a badly injured left knee, dragged himself out at 54 for 5 in a chase of 113. He then went on to pull the rampaging Uttar Pradesh fast bowlers for fours and sixes, and hopped on one good leg from one end of the pitch to the other for several singles. Fittingly, he stepped out to loft Ali Murtaza over mid-on to end the match, took out the middle stump and let out a roar. Uttar Pradesh, the best side of the Ranji league stage, were knocked out by a team willing to go to any lengths, and willing to bear any kind of pain.
WAG.

Wow awesome. WAG!

He walked in like that first innings too.

It was painful to even watch according to cricinfo live commentary.

Baroda crumbling against Mumbai on a flat track.

Another left arm spinner FFS (Dabholkar) doing well for Mumbai here alongside Chavan.

Yousuf Pathan's innings was so absurd -

4.30pm - Yusuf Afridi goes
This was a freight train coming. Yusuf Pathan has been swinging at everything, and has survived for a bit, but now he toe-ends a short ball from Agarkar to mid-on. They are 150 for 5 now. In comes Rayudu
Came in and just started swinging at everything.

Manish Pandey  on a 170 not out right now. Such a Big innings player that guy. Taking Karnataka close to Saurashtra's score almost singlehandedly.

Playing with a suspected tennis elbow that has been troubling him for the full season too.

Btw, reading back on Cricinfo commentary and Soumik Chaterjee is a Sargeant, in the Indian Air Force.

Was painful to even watch him bat and coaches/doctors weren't at all comfortable with it either. WAG!
