*Official* India vs West Indies 2022

Didn't they arrived on 2nd Feb? .. That's a long way away from being jet lagged.
Listen to Pollard's press conference yesterday. Caribbean to India is a big difference. 3 days quarantine followed by training in groups of 3s. They literally had their first full training session yesterday.

There's no way they were going to compete in this match.

I know but it's a ODI. You don't feel a jet lag after 4 days. They arrived after playing T20 series so not like there was lack of practice either. It's tough but it is what it is. I remember India played a T20 in NZ a day after landing in 2020.

India are better than us. There is no way we can cope with that little time to prepare. It's crazy.

Akeal has bowled brilliantly without much luck. Windies will give better fight in coming games. India needs to up their game.
Kela Rahul would have botched this chase already if he was here.

8 needed off like 140 balls and Siva says:

not too many runs to play with

Oh how I missed you LS..

Akeal looks a talented all formats bowler. I like him...

Whatever it takes!!!
Ahmedabad will continue to be slow. I would get in Hayden Walsh for Roach. Holder, Joseph can take the new ball and Pollard can be the backup seamer, maybe even bring in Rowman Powell for Bravo or someone and have the 4th seam up option.

Even Roston Chase won't be a bad idea. Will offer some batting depth as well. He has troubled India with the bat in longer format.

Prasidh seems to have done well in his 5 ODIs so far and has a decent List A record even though he has body frame of Unadkat. Is he good?

It was an interesting decision to bring Roach back for this tour. I like the logic the new selectors used, which was that we needed to start taking powerplay wickets and Roach is obviously class at that in red ball cricket. But I don;t think he is the right man for this role for many reasons. He's 33, he's now in the low 80's mph range, and once the swing is gone he offers nothing. I thought they would be better off with Jayden Seales, but they might be trying to manage his entry into the white ball setup and prioritising red ball cricket for now.

Personally I would bring Odean back and get him to try and bowl like Alzarri did yesterday for a few overs. He has the pace to make India uncomfortable, even if he is a huge work in progress.
