**Official** India v Pakistan

Only now he's bowled well against Pakistan. But what difference does it make? Who doesn't bowl well against Pakistan? Never mind that double-left-footed batting side, how about getting more wickets against New Zealand and Australian FC sides instead? They're far, far better than this lot any day and they've made merry when they faced him.

And regarding your comment about Balaji against New Zealand, that's the only other team he's played against!!! And that was well over a year ago on the most flat batting tracks you'll ever find. This thought may seem foreign to you, but players improve!

But that doesn't matter hey? Bring on those 2nd string pace bowlers, despite Zaheer and Balaji bowling well, and Pathan having a good record against Pakistan. Who cares hey? Drop them all.
Players improve, but not if they complain so much about flat pitches. On that pitch, Tuffey and Butler bowled better than him- they had 8 wickets between them- on the very same flat pitch. After that series against NZ, he travelled to Australia, where he just took a wicket in every innings for over 100- against second-string FC sides. If he can finish a series abroad with an average under 28, he's an improved bowler.

Alright Mr Arjun. A five-for in Test cricket against a non-Bangladesh or Zimbabwe team means nothing, since this Pakistan batting team, including Inzamam Ul Haq and Yousuf Youhana are absolute garbage.

I bow down to you, since you know it all in cricket. But If I have the honour of asking you one question, it will be this. Could you name your Indian team that should be playing Pakistan. For it would be a great privilege for you to inform me of that.

From some of his past posts I can try to name some players that should come in.

RS Sodhi
Ramesh Powar
MS Dhoni
Yuvraj Singh
SS Paul
JP Yadav (I think)

I will have to refer back for the rest.

As for who to drop, take your pick :p

Here are some more

Munaf Patel
Avishkar Salvi
Amit Bhandari

He wants a pace attack like this :-

Pathan- More pace, can swing the ball
Munaf- Explosive pace, to attack the batsmen, or make them come forward.
Balaji/Salvi- Keep a tight line and length for a long time..

That's really cool. I'll have to look around and see if we have anything like that at USyd.
Please post if you find anything of the sort at USyd.. :)

And that's stumps... what a day for India. :)

Sehwag not out on 95, I just hope he gets his ton early tomorrow and can take it to the Pakistani bowlers who would have to be demoralised. 1 wicket for the day (obviously with rain delay) has got to shatter any confidence you have.

What's Zaheer's average against Pakistan? And don't say "well he deserved to get wickets!", because that's not what matters. It's the wickets he actually takes. So, what is Zaheer's average against Pakistan? Pretty damn high, I'd wager. This isn't to insult Zaheer, who I like too, I'm just tired of Arjun's foolish bias against Balaji. He won't be satisfied until India is divided in two, and North India and South India play separately. Then he can have his precious crap bowlers like Reetinder Sodhi bowl. Play the whole damn Mumbai team why don't you. All I know is this, South bowlers 7 wickets, North bowlers 3.

Who exactly does Pathan have more pace than? It's actually quite sad how little pace he has. Ravi Shastri brought up how all the Pakistani bowlers bowl much quicker than the Indians. Sami's top speed was 91 mph, Rana's top speed was 88 mph and Razzaq's top speed was 85 mph. By comparison, Pathan's top speed was 82 mph. Balaji was the only one who got it up to 85 mph. Zaheer was embarrassingly slow as well. While of course it's about wickets, not pace, it's still incredible that Pathan was bowling so slowly. His average was barely 80 mph, if that!!!

I'm never really bothered with pace (Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Shoaib and Lee bowling at 150+ km/h, and Akhtar is my favourite pace bowler in the world to watch), but what is so ironic about your post is that if anyone on this board values pace the most... its Arjun.

The ironic part of it all being... Balaji was the fastest of the Indian bowlers.

So what else can he say? Balaji got the wickets. Balaji kept it tight. Balaji bowled the fastest. What more does he want?

To be fair, Salvi is atleast comparable to Balaji potentially. Sodhi, on the other hand is a joke .

What's going on with Nehra. From what i've seen of the two, he's alot better then Balaji. Though Balaji did very well today.

Not to worry. All Balaji has to do is hit a couple of sixes when he bats and Arjun'll be lobbying for him to bat at no.7

Perhaps Balaji is the answer to our opening woes! But honestly, Balaji is useless to the team. He should either start bowling some off-spin or retire.

Really? From what I've seen of Nehra in the past 3 years, both live at the ground and on television, he's beyond horrible. I'd take Balaji over him anyday. Once again let me clarify, I am not claiming Balaji is a world class bowler, I am just stating that he is right now the best option to choose as India's 3rd pacer.
