Harsh tbh, he's not even bowled that badly here, his first over was some good slower ball bowling. Just one of those pitches, and Kohli getting after him.

seriously bad move to send in Pandya who struggles to start off quickly.

Should have sent in Iyer (who got 37 odd from around 17 balls last game).

I feel India should get 230 from here but because of Pandya (and Kohli both) being on the crease -the total may fall 10-20 short!

My original comment? Fair enough. I actually thought you were commenting on his last over as the catch hadn't been recorded in the Grauniad's commentary yet.

How good are Rohit and SKY, they were hitting sixes for fun.

Although Pandya and Kohli are managing to get runs, they aren't looking as fluid and barely managing to hit any sixes in these death overs. Bit disappointing.

It's really exposing how one-dimensional this bowling attack is on a flat pitch with true bounce.

Think a Dawson/Briggs would be a good option to open up with. Every international team seems to have a left-arm spinner other than England.

England and Morgan as captain really need to have more faith in Curran. Dhoni figured out how to use him last season for csk, and he's a far more useful player then "share 4 overs with stokes and bat 7 every game." Wood and Jordan have been going at 13 an over and Curran can't get the ball. His slower cutters are perfect for this pitch.

Yeah it's pretty inflexible stuff. Was fairly apparent early on that Wood's one-paced nature wasn't the way to go. I don't understand why Jordan seems to have lost faith in his yorker, it's the reason he was such a useful death bowler for us in the past. Not sure what he's offering without it.

He’s good with picking up length early...and fast hands and power from a strong core makes it so easy to hit the big shots.
Yep. He does go 'against the grain' in what you'd normally associated with a power-hitter (big forearms, biceps, shoulders).
Shows that it's about having a strong core as you say

end of over 16 13 runs

end of over 17 11 runs

end of over 18 12 runs

end of over 19 18 runs

end of over 20 13 runs

67 off last 5 with 8 wickets in hand

8 fours and 2 sixes

not the greatest of efforts given the batsmen who didn't bat
