*Official* India Tour of England 2018

I think weldone means "normally" rather than "regularly" -- ie. he'll be on the field but not fielding to his usual standard.
Right. His exact words were "I should be ready for the next game although not (with) the same intensity in the field but I should be good enough to hold a position in the field and be 100% with the bat."

One is tempted to suggest that even a Kohliless wheelchair would fare better than some of the Indian batsmen.

You could stack the field with slips/gullies/third man/leg gullies etc. though. Not much chance of the wheelchair hitting anything in front of square.

I would keep Rahane and Pujara in and drop the other underperformers c***s. Might as well do something unconventional as this will be a serious thrashing again otherwise. Hell I might even agree with bringing in Jadeja as a batsman.
Someone with violent diarrhoea needs to do a big s h i t on all of their faces whilst they are indulging in coffee -(which is all they seem to be doing this tour).

1. Vijay (to be replaced by Shaw next match)
2. Pujara
3. Rahane (if he fails again to be replaced by Agarwal next match opening with Shaw, or Vihari)
4. Kohli
5. Nair
6. Pant
7. Ashwin
8. Pandya
9. Shami
10. Ishant
11. Bumrah

You’re not talking about Rohan Aggarawal who I coached at Wenty a few years back are you? Because he’s a terrific kid but a complete numpty of a cricketer.

I'd keep the same (under performing) eleven, except for bringing in Umesh for Kuldeep.

a. Bumrah for Kuldeep if, and only if, Bumrah is completely match-fit.
b. Rest Kohli (bring in Shaw), if there is even he slightest chance that he may aggravate his injury.

Could spell disaster if Kohli plays and aggravates his injury to such an extent that he is ruled out for the rest of the series. Can't imagine its worth the risk, even with the series on the line in this game. He might say that his batting is 100% but I'm not sure how likely that is if he will have to be on and off the field in the same game. Of course he will probably be alright come Saturday anyway, but with the amount of Cricket he plays, he really needs to rest when he has these niggles, especially concerning his longevity. I remember in the masterclass with Nasser Hussain he specifcally referenced his awareness that his career might not expand for as long as others because of the amount of Cricket that he plays. Could remedy that by missing an IPL season every now and then (let's face it, he probably doesn't need the money).

Mate, when my association brought in naming 12 on the team sheet, any 11 of whom could bat and any 11 bowl, it was like Christmas every Saturday from September through March. Open the batting, hopefully make a few runs, then sit on the sideline as we fielded and direct traffic while the younger blokes ran around in the sun as I shouted "It'll do you good!" from the shade of the pavilion. It was like being a Davis Cup captain every second weekend.

Read the likely line-up on Hindustan Times:

1. Vijay
2. KL Rahul
3. Pujara
4. Kohli*
5. Rahane
6. Pant+
7. Ashwin
8. Ishant
9. Shami
10. Umesh
11. Bumrah

Interesting call - backing the batsmen and in fact, increasing pressure by lengthening the tail. DK has been horrendous - with the bat and the gloves - so rightfully deserves to be dropped. Kuldeep (one of the worst performances in recent memeory) is also shunted out, with Umesh rightfully back. Bumrah in the mix will make it quite interesting - India will have 4 genuine quicks, who combined could give the England batting a decent test. Not a bad line-up.
