A series victory away from the subcontinent after 20 years - excellent stuff from Dravid's men.

Lotos to ponder and in some ways the series raises more questions than it does give answers but for now, it's time to celebrate........Well done lads !!!!! :)

Was too ill to stay up and watch the match, but I woke up and immediately went to Cricinfo. Awesome stuff!

Kumble is superman and Dravid is an absolute legend.

I hope Striker stops jumping on and off the bandwagon. Don't write teams off after 1 frickin' day of test cricket. Remember what Howardj said about Pakistan after the first couple of days of the first test against England last year? Said they had no heart etc. And they went on to make a brilliant come back.

I'm never 'off' the bandwagon. I just get discouraged fast when I see the same of India that hadn't (up until now, yay!) won outside the subcontinent. I have literally watched every single ball of every single test and ODI matches, so although at times I was convinced that we wouldn't be able to pull it out, I never went off the wagon.

Holy ****, **** yes .. (sorry James)

Series win! Now what, silentstriker? ;)

Now, I admit I was wrong. My blood pressure jumped when it looked like WI were in it, but I am so relieved and excited (and now drunk after a bottle of champagne and half a bottle of tequilla)...this is awesome.

I understand how you feel and why you behave like this. My wife is exactly the same.

One minute she is hurling abuses at Indian cricketers and telling me 'I dont know why you waste your time watching these no-hopers' a few hours later she is grinning from ear to ear telling me how she told-me-so this or that player would swing it for India if only the selctors had listened to her earlier.

I smile at her indulgently for I know her understanding of cricket is not very different from the first lady of the United States of America :)

Congratulations to Indian team, Finally WI went out of luck. If any team ever deserved a series victory, it was this team. India should have won 3-0 but for some poor team selection and bad luck. It just really feels great.

That said, I will still say that not playing Bhajji in first 2 tests was a mistake and selecting VRV for this tour was a disaster. Also its good to see Mr. Dhoni getting a test of Real cricket, hopefully Indian selectors will take note of that.

Here we go with the euphoria...

Chappell is a FOOL. Here is what Lara said:

"I am proud of the guys that we are not 3-0 down. As soon as India made 500 runs, it was a dustbowl in St. Lucia. If Harbhajan Singh had played in that Test, we would have been down and out."

India should have beaten these guys 2-0 easily.

And I have said this a MILLION times: Yuvraj is NOT a Test batsman at all.

Well played West Indies, lots of quality cricket. Lara was very dissapointing and Chanderpaul and Sarwan needed to stand up. Taylor and Collymore were superb. Great, tight series.

at last a series win outside of the subcontintent! after a lot of huffing and puffing, we finally won! i really thought the windies luck would hold throughout the series but they just ran out of it at the end i guess....:)

The ONLY one who need a WAKE-UP call asap is Greg Chappell. His contribution has been, exactly what ?. Dropping Pathan ana Ganguly and Bhajji at the wrong times. And wasn't he expected to HELP Pathan scale newer heights.

Let's face it - all these players were originally developed by Ganguly, like it or not.

Chappell is an empty suit. This is why he faied MISERABLY as a coach in Australia..
Oh dear, this was a tad premature a rant methinks.

Whatever it takes!!!
Great win for INdia. :)

As Sanz said, India definitely deserved to win this series and I am glad that has happened. Tough luck to the Windies, but I thought they fought well to get within 50 runs of the target after being 50/4 with Lara, Gayle and Chanders gone.

And I can totally understand Lara's frustration with the pitch. The Windies won't get anything that even remotely helps fast bowlers if they come here.

Well, it's obvious that the sycophant fans here have no lives other than relating personally to India's cricket victories which they had nothing to do with. Believe me, you deserve better and some of these cricket "heroes" and Sania Mirza, and David Beckham much less.

The ONLY guy here who deserves MORE is Dravid. More accolades, more money, more everything.

Here is what Wadekar said today - now I admit I am nothing - but neither are all of you fawning fools. However Wadekar does know more than all of us combined:

"Harbhajan and Anil have always bowled well in tandem. Both bowled brilliantly and played a big part in the victory. In fact, it was a mistake in not playing Harbhajan in the first two Tests. Otherwise, India could have won the series stylishly with a handsomely bigger margin," the former left-handed stylish batsman said.

India deserves better from it's sportsmen. But until, the people wake up, they will continue to reward idiots from Bollywood and cricketers...neither of whom can really compete on the world stage. INDIA LOST 4-1 to a VERY WEAK side that were BEATEN by everyone else...

Give some credit to the Indian team too, Anil. Luck did not win the series for them. Bad luck prevented them from winning by a bigger margin. :)

Great stuff India they deserved to win. Dravid is an absolute legend on the other hand Lara was dissapointing but one got to understand the guy is in his 37th year and a very small amount of cricket is left in him.

Me. :)

Anyway, great stuff to finally win outside the subcontinent. India unlucky not to win by 2-0 or even 3-0, but a series win is a series win. Quite a few positives to come out of this tour I think - Jaffer, Laxman, Sreesanth and Munaf, and of course the performance of Kumble and Harbhajan away from home.

Must be hard - I am sure by now you are used to hating yourself.

I am simply amazed at how juvenile this Board is in their unfettered praise of a team that was expected to win in BOTH one-dayers and Tests against a very very weak, inexperienced and low-morale WI team. After all the selection-fiascos of Chappell.

Also, amazing how Kiran More was right there in the front for all the photo-ops BUT none of these seletors are ever seen when Inida loses...Get a clue.

Truly, all you guys deserve each other :-O
