 so Sreesanth was Greg's "find" - not Saurav's.

He is going for 7 runs/over bowling military medium pace. And he is India's premier strike bowler in this Test.

3-1/2 days - you heard it here first.

Yay - I win again. Lara out < 30. It also tells the sorry state of WI batting, Indian bowling is so pathetically poor and they are still 152/3

VRV is back into attack to gain some confidence.
As pathetic as it sounds, he's actually been better than Sreesanth. 8-)
Amidst the crap, Munaf is maintaining his low-20s average and good economy rate ... and Kumble is doing his stuff somewhat.

That's what you call plumb, Kumble been on the money today, shame about the lack of support. Be a travesty if the West Indies blow it from here, considering the great start Gayle gave them. Interesting to see how Bravo gets on against the leg spinner…

Man, at the beginning of the match, I caught some flak when I said how these bowlers are going to perform. Seriously, is anyone suprised? We suck. A lot. This is not even a test standard pace attack.

Can someone please explain why harbhajan was left out? That's like England leaving out Jones or Flintoff when they're fit. You have to play with your strengths.

I can understand the Pathan exclusion, but not Harbhajan.

Well, the Harbhajan exclusion was STUPID but you can understand the reasoning behind it. With Pathan out, do you really see them playing Kumble at #7, considering we have Dhoni at #6 and a not exactly in-form (in tests, at least) top-order? Nope. Then, they should've played 2 seamers and 2 spinners. That seems like a India-only option to some, but that would've worked better. Instead, they must've thought that seamers will do the trick in the Caribbean ... well not when they bowl rubbish.

Now, regarding the seamers. Sreesanth was supposed to be the leader of the attack bowling in the high 80s, but ever since that pre-Caribbean injury he's been bowling in the low 80s without the fire that made him potent against England. Sreesanth was terrible today: no pace, inconsistent line, terrible length. In comparison, VRV showed some promise in patches but was also poor overall. His first spell was against Gayle in full flow, and he didn't survive. The later spell was better, but while he bowled a good line, he didn't get much movement. Munaf was the pick of the seamers and could've picked up 4 wickets today, but it's rather obvious that he lacks stamina. He ends the day trundling in, with a pathetic follow through and Pathan-like pace, when we know he can do MUCH better without too much effort. Dravid should've gone to VRV and not Sreesanth when Munaf was being relieved. Let's hope they all learnt something today. Chappell and Frazier need to work on Munaf's fitness and teach Sreesanth that he needs to bowl fast and full in tests; it's not like he can't bowl fast and keep a good line and length while at it (vs England).

Disappointing day.

You've made that point at least 5 times today. Anyways, he deserves it - terrible day for Sreesanth. Don't forget what he did against England but don't rely on it. If he can bowl fast and full like he did in the last series, he's fine; if he can't, you keep the abuse going JustTool.

Err What happened to the 5 Bowler theory ? I thought they were going to stick to it...it seems like it was a Ploy by Greg 'Underarm' Chappell to keep Sourav out of the XI.

Chappell/Dravid have taken Indian team for a ride and to a new low by their stupid Re-building for the future. They have destroyed the confidence of VVs Laxman, Md. Kaif and now they have done the same to Pathan. And why is Mr. Chappal telling the whole world that 'Pathan's confidence is down', what the hell happened to 'whatever happens in Dressing room stays in Dressing room' and what purpose does it serve ? Why cant they just say that Irfan was dropped instead of making idiotic statements.

Here is another Gem from our team manager :- "Only 11 can play in a match so five have to be dropped from the 16. Irfan and Harbhajan were in the ODI squad also and they have been rested for a while,"

What kind of idiot is this manager...If Pathan/Bhajji needed rest, why did they play in the warm up match ?
