Indians were too good for us. And Mahela and Kandamby were too slow. They should have hit the **** out of the part timers like Pathan, Raina and Sehwag.

If SL wants to win, they should make India a 4 bowler team. Any part timer should disappear when ever introduced. Good example can be taken from Raina, once Dilshan was introduced, smashed him for six right out of the screws.

Kulasekara is a good bowler to bowl at conventional batting. For unorthadox players like Sehwag or Gambhir, it calls for a change. Malinga or Fernado might do the trick with their extra pace, which will take them out of comfort zones. Dammika Prasad last time got these two hopping around in the test series, why not try him as well.
Sehwag spun the ball a mile and was easily the best fingerspinner that day.

Praveen Kumar's pace was timed at around 130-135 Ks all day. 8-2-18-1 is a proper one-day opening spell, I'm still at a loss to understand why Munaf was picked ahead of him.

Munaf has been in good form since the Sri Lanka ODI series whereas Praveen got carted a few times between the Asia Cup and the Sri Lanka ODI series. Obviously Praveen is better on paper as a prospect but he was simply dropped after showing inconsistency.

Fair enough I suppose, not what I'd have done though. An ODI is only ten overs max of bowling, remember, and every single bowler in the Asia cup got carted bar Mendis. The key for me is that i don't think it constitutes a loss of form. In other words, if they were both playing in a match tomorrow I'd still back Praveen to do better.

I actually rate Munaf too btw, just not as highly.

That should not have been a huge problem for two set batsmen to score 5 against him. He;s no Murali or Harbhajan.
Murali ain't finger spinner.

Tbf, Sehwag took a fifer in the Delhi test when Harby struggled most of the series. I'd say he is a bit more than a part-timer these days.

Its not! There are many politics being played in Indian cricket. There are lot many quality youngsters in India being left out just because they dont have enough money to pay to the selectors..

Its total bribery here in India, The reason why I started hating Indian cricket //........?

I was a die hard Indian fan before match fixing scandal. I used to not to go to school whenever India plays ... When I came to know that all those matches were being fixed by these money minded crooked players in India, I lost trust on these Indian players at that time...

But things are getting settled here, after Dhoni took over the captaincy. He is innovative and thats what I like about him. Since, he took captaincy I dont have any problems with Indian cricket...They are doing good because they are innovative and have spirited young side

Breaking news: Munaf returning home to India because of groin injury. His replacement is the returning Balaji.

Balaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see him being rewarded for quality delivering on flat pitches. Also sends out a message that Balaji is the 4th choice seamer and almost a surety to NZ. Way to go!!!

Not exactly. First of all, Praveen Kumar just had a great match and he's probably ahead of Balaji. Pathan's still in the squad and Sreesanth may get back in the mix if he returns with a bang in the Duleep Trophy final. Balaji would've been better served getting a very meaningful FC match under his belt rather than hoping that India clinch the series so that he can have a shot at the playing XI. That said, this will give the management a close look at Balaji before selecting the squad for NZ, even though a big haul against West Zone would mean more for me.

Disagree, Bala has been phenomenal this year in FC and considering he played atleast half of them on virtual roads, says so much about his brilliance.
